Bass, Treble, CarPuters, adding an after market alarm. It's all in here.

Music on a stick?

Post by RobboMC » Tue May 22, 2018 4:03 am

I've read the pages about installing a CD player in the glove box and how it fills it up,
but has anyone fitted a memory stick of downloaded music instead of a CD player?

I'm thinking it would be much smaller and maybe fit behind the small panel in the footwell
( and so remove the panel to infrequently change the stick )

The head unit in my car has a USB port on the fascia, so you can simply plug in a memory stick full of all your MP3s :thumbsu:

I've been using 'music on a stick' in my F for about 6 years now; so convenient.

6 disc changer behind the drivers seat and active under seat sub but as we are neither very tall (me 5'7 and Mrs TC 5'3) we have plenty of room behind the seats. Most CD autochangers have 5m leads so could be fitted in the boot.

However you can't buy new head units with autochanger input.

The head unit in the F has a rear USB so I have dropped a lead into the trinket tray under the head unit.
The head unit that was in the ZS also has a front USB socket, and I plan to swap that into the F as it has DAB and bluetooth.

It would also help if I put all my music (300 vinyl LPs and 200 CDs) onto MP3....
