as i now have a lot of time to think .... hehe ...

has anyone of you contact or to a member who has fiddled it out to have a turbo with vvc Mechs and emerald ?

this is my quest : i have an emerald harness for an mpi , but an vvc head with mechs, so far so good ...

As i wanted to put the harness on the engine , i saw, that the harness misses the selenoids conectors on the HCU, uhhh... yep , idiot , the obvious difference between the mpi and vvc , LOL !

no big deal to put some copper lines but where to make the contact on the emerald ?

what i found is the phase cam connection pin , also needed, but not the others ...

As i read the pinout of the K3 i cant find / do not know how to make the right connection ...

any idea or : " yeah dummie , put the blue on pin xy ... and black on pin xyz ...

that will work , runs two years on my turboed vvc ... "

that would make my day !

ive choosed the vvc head with mechs , turbo, emerald route, cause ive read here , that it´s already been done ... and works ...

as im still under medics ...

hope that makes any sense , i wrote ...

Thanks guys for your kind words !

Bugger! Accidents are bound to happen during each ones lifetime but sounds like yours is pretty heavy. Myself I got hit from the back when I was in standstill at a traffic jam to access the rush hour fastlane, but the 3 Polish blokes behind me had no clue the Dutch feature such a fastlane so hit me by driving app. 100km/h. At first all looked fine, but next day I suffered from serious whiplash complaints so already more than 6 months recovering. Whish you all the best and a more speedy recovery!

Been away for a while and just caught up with this thread! Glad to hear that you are improving Cadde! Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Turbo VVC? Pretty sure that's been done - perhaps on RoverTech or Metropower websites?

Yeah, in theory in know what to do ... in theory

Emerald told me its Pin 17 and 21 for the selenoids on the HCU ...

Great support, by the way ...

At the end of the week i should be strong enough, to get back to the build, then i should get the subframe under the car , as the harness has already been made to plug it together , i have only a few more steps to go ...

And the we´ll see what happens ...

If anything happens at all ...

i imagine a few weeks error fixing ... harness trouble, i see you coming ...

Here i am , again , finally i made it out of the bed and jumped right under the car ... 8-)

i ve hung the chassis under the carport and put the subframe under again ...

im really happy to get it done , cause i´m certainly not running on 100% ...

i´m back in the bed ... to recover ...

a bit too much , i assume ...

;)

PS : i had attached some photos ,now deleted , cause they were upside down , huh ?

its half the fun without photos ...

Hi , i want to share some pics and want to say , that im thankful to be alive ...

After the accident , i had trouble with my knee , and after a look into my knee via MRT , ok , i found myself again in the hospital ...

regardless , i made some progress ... :

Engine is in , attached the water ways to the heater circuit :
IMG_2405.JPG
i´ve made all the hoses a bit longer , otherwise i couldnt attach the 60mm air intake hose and filter to the turbo ... it would not have fit ...
Pilsken.jpg
As i got the Emerald MPI harness from the BlueT , i had to put some wires to bring the three vvc sensors to the Emerald, as i have the VVC head incl. mechs on it ... that was the easy part , BUT :

As i ve had a mems2 motor harness and a mems3 Emerald motor harness , Mykel was so kind and had made me a mems2 to 3 clutch assembly , so i had not to cut all the electric copper wires, to hardwire them ...

And now i´m struggling through the wires, as i dont have power on the emerald when attached to the motor harness , but the emerald runs fine ( got power ) when i support plus at pin 28 and ground at pin 29 from the battery alone ...

I have an gigantic electric problem here, booo :thumbsd: ... and as i´m not really an electric wizard , i have to wait for a forum member friend , who will help me next week to find and solve the problem ... :thumbsu:

At first , we all thought, we´ve cooked the emerald, as we´ve all heard a strange noise, coming from the device, but luckily it still works ... ;)
IMG_2407.JPG
So this is thing is my best friend the next upcoming time ...
IMG_2409.JPG
everything else is ready to rock , or as a dear member said : 0-bang in three seconds !

to be continued ...

;)

hi , short update ...

yes , it took me some time , but i´m nearly finished ...

It gave me a hard time to elemininate the dings and dongs in the harness wiring , and in the end , i made the motor harness somewhat complete new ...

i even bought an new emerald connector and rearranged the the pins into it , to the right positions ... i ve had a lot of missing contacts , in the old one , so i made it new ...

The harness i got, had some mayor failures build in ...

now i got it mainly fixed , with the help of my comrads of the mgboard ... for some of you, a face will pop up : yes , Master Mind Mykel fights behind the lines !! :thumbsu:

And ive learned a lot , too ! :thumbsu:

I have ignition sparks and the fuel pump running , but the fuel injectors not going to open ... ive double checked the wiring and the emerald software for the right outputs ... i still wait for an answer from Karl@Emerald

It should work , but it doesnt yet ... :?

I have a few more knots in my head , regarding the immobilisor interacting with the ability to start , or to open the injector"gates" ... injectors should be ok , checked with another set of injectors ...

Sorry, i couldnt come to MG20, i even missed Gaydon ... due to , errr , the whole array of difficulties ... called life ....

as always ...

Aaaand here i am again ! :D

a blink of an eye and a year is gone and i betcha you never thought that this is finaly getting near to an end, right ? ...

In the meantime life strikes back , means : got divorced , a bunch of underpaid jobs , need to find an appartement etc. bla, bla , bla ...

but, as i got all life flaws sorted : engine is running now ! :thumbsu:

throw 5000 EUR of my guitar lesson backbook money on this thing and now its up and running :D

runs badly these days , but it runs !

Have to go into the fine tuning with the emerald and some minor clutch difficulties ...

Fiddled half a year with the wiring and now i m the father of an undoubtly unallowed car in germany and i love it !

I really dont care anymore , bout the german laws , really ...

Expect that the german TÜV will never see this car ...

OK, after 2,5 years under an open carport , the appearance of the car is a kind of , errr, ugly

Nothing for someone who is scared of spiders and the like

But nothing to worry about , really ...

It maybe will took me another two years to clean it up

I tell ya, it feels great ! :thumbsu:

I come back to you all to give some information bout the , how do you name it ? specs ?

when i finally got this thing on the street !

Happy christmas !

;)
