A Herts/North London Region?

Post by purplebargeken » Sun Jul 07, 2013 9:22 pm

It's kind of noticeable that we don't have such a beastie. Would there be any interest? I might be interested in putting something together, I guess I would have to be a 'real' member for this to happen?

Cheers

Me too! I'm in Muswell Hill. Essex Roadsters is probably the closest to me. And the City of London Piss Up Club (CoLPUC) was good fun, but this has died off in recent years :(

Where were you thinking of holding it? Project Shed needs to do some exercise :)

Welllllll, I was thinking perhaps a pub as we wouldn't have to pay anything for the use of (apart from the drinks and crisps). Club Triumph meet at a pub in Crews Hill which is handy for the M25 and NCR I guess. The Plough!!! Once a month perhaps, or......

Sounds good to me too. What day do you want to set as the inaugural meeting? :)

Well, if everyone is happy for me to do it (with a bit of help), then how about Monday 22nd July, say 8pm at The Plough in Crews Hill, Enfield?

Is the fastest approach via the A10 if coming up from the south do you think?

Hi Rob, Yes,
Turn left onto Bullsmoor Lane, just before the M25 roundabout.
After a few hundred yards there is a sharp left hand bent with a right turn, turn right onto Whitewebbs Lane.
Follow Whitewebbs Lane to the end and turn right onto Theobalds Park road.
After a few hundred yards there is a tight left hand bend.
The Plough is on the left just after the bend.

Well done Ken, mgfsoo started Herts Wheels years ago and it was quite popular at first but died out after a few years. We attended the innaugral meeting and I'll do the same if I can get there, I need to hand Dave over so it could be a good place to do it.

Great stuff folks, the more the merrier.

It'd be good if we drummed up enough interest to make it a regular thing.

Can a forum person make a little section for us in the appropriate place perhaps?

Cheers

Ken. We are looking for someone to step forward to be a regional rep in the Hertfordshire area so we can set up that region again. The rep does though need to be a MGCC member as they are not only representing us but the MGCC in general. Once we have a rep in place, a regional section would be set up on the forum but until a rep is in place, creating none 'formal' MGF Register meets in the General board is fine. If you are interested in been a rep please drop me a PM or email and I can let you know what been a regional rep is all about.

The club is here to help, so don't think this an onerous task you're talking on :D

May be I should look to try and kick-start CoLPUC again...?
