Yesterday, Christmas Eve, actually but close enough I suppose. The postman brought me the Mk2 Air bag that I bought off ebay so went out and fitted it bit more interior bling. I prefer thenice coloured MG badge on the Mk2 bag to the black embossed one on the original.

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?
After all the Christmas family goings on I have been allowed in the garage for a couple of hours each day and so have been pressing ahead with my brake overhaul.
The front end was completed before Christmas with new discs, calipers, pads and stainless hoses.
The rears discs look OK so I am leaving them in place just replacing the pads and hoses, and difficulties have arisen, on the O/S I cannot undo the brake pipe it is corroded solid and is a problem I might put off and get a proffesional to have a look at as I cannot even see where the pipes go.
I replaced the pads after a struggle to get the sliding caliper bolts undone, I took the caliper to work and got one of the chaps to undo them but needn't have bothered as the caliper is scrap in any case, as the piston is stuck and refuses to retract fully, I have another caliper on the way.
The N/S bolts came undone easily as did the brake pipe also the piston retracted fully so no probs and all assembled and ready to bleed.
Just waiting for the O/S caliper to arrive so I can get that fitted.

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?
Well I bought a TF 160LE 80th.
The first thing to go on was a Piper 4-2-1 manifold with matching exhaust, a completely different sound to my Miltek on an F, but still loud.
Next Bilstein shocks and thicker anti roll bars followed by a larger rear brake set up.
So the car stops and handles, all belts were replaced and a B&G low coolant sensor set up fitted.
Next week I will transfer my roll cage and harness from my F.
Future is a cold air system and a computer upgrade.
All this was for our first Hillclimb in March but I will miss this event as I will be in the UK.
My F will get some TLC, ready to be sold with a new hood, carpets and a few dings taken out plus cut and polish

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?
Fitted new complete new exhaust system, had to bend one of the pipes slightly but not a big problem, now to get it ready for a M.O.T. and new head gasket set up. keeps me and my mate good.
Re: what have you done on your mgf today?
Fitted new rubber gators on the end of the gear change cables, plus bought and fitted a replacement clock as the hour hand wasn't moving. Had a brake bleeding pump for xmas so will be doing the whole system shortly. Thinking of replacing shockers later too.

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?
Finally found a few moments to fit my 'new' rear caliper, found on e bay for £20 quid and on examination not very old.
Brakes bled and a nice firm pedal, I used a one man vacuum bleeding tool very easy to use. So thats the brake overhaul finished apart from replacing the o/s/r brake hose I will try and borrow a ramp as I also need to change the brake pipe and accessability is a bit poor.
Still got a few other jobs to to yet.
