It was a glorious early spring day in the Cotswolds today, so I took the opportunity to wash and wax two of the cars, including the TF.

In fact it was such a lovely day we took the TF out for a pub lunch.

My last sentence may not be true, (I wish it was), but we did take the TF out to a 'local' farm shop to buy some food for lunch :)

Thanks jonny...its a jakabi designed cubby box that I sprayed grey yo take away the black gloss allover finish with just the lip as black. The x power sticker is from ebay along with the non slip mat cut to size. All I had to do really was put it all together :thumbsu:

So weekend saw the addition of TF bootlid (with Trophy spoiler) which is black but needed it out of garage and might get resprayed at some point, adding red to gearknob, and discovering I have a GT exhaust fitted (though is that a MK1 exhaust on my MY2000, which is Mems2j anyway)

I brought her home!

1999 75th Anniversary, silver with grenadine leather (non-UK/Euro model) with 39,000 kms (24,375 miles) on the clock. Presents as a new car... still has the original tape deck in it! :D Very lucky...

Superb, loving the (part) grenadine interior.

Nothing - I went to get dressed so I had a couple of hours before the F1 as the predicted rain hadn't arrived - it had arrived by the time I got down stairs again.

Then it dried off while the racing was on, enough for my wife to cut the lawn (I bought her a push along mower and told her it would be better exercise than going to the gym on a Sunday - LOL).

The racing finished and it still hadn't rained so I went out, got the jack out, loosened the wheel nuts on the back wheel and went to jack her up as the rain started again - I wasn't happy.

One can not use angle grinders or welders in the rain and as I am replacing the end of the sill it was a no no, again :(

At last, i have a bit of a clear schedule to get on with my mgf :D So far nothing much apart from cleaning, rust treating and painting the subframe etc that i can get to by taking the front wheels and liners off. Looks pretty solid under there. Now i need to make a list of whats needed to get him on the road.

2 weeks on, I've cut the rust out, shaped the new section to fit, bought a flux wire welder from Lidl for all of £80, watched the F1 from Baku and mostly welded the new bit in.

Well I bought a cheap hardtop in need of headlining and a repair to heated rear screen, I already have a hard top, but I suspect it's going to be cheaper and easier to refurb the one that's the colour of my car than respray the one that's not.... we will see there will at some point in the future either be a good gold hardtop for sale or a solar red 'project' hardtop.....

I bought some cheap Halfords touch up kits from ebay - the nib fits into groove nicely.... I think I've decided on the black top with red lettering so will spend time and do it properly - I seem to have 3 Gear knobs now in various guises...
