This morning I spent some time wiring the sockets in my daughters summer house. This afternoon I refitted the O/S driveshaft, transferred the ABS sensor to the O/S TF rear hub, fitted the O/S top bearing to the hub, fitted the O/S hub and associated arms and stuff to the car, fitted the N/S hub and associated arms and stuff to the car. Then we had a Chinese takeaway.

Found a couple sites of that do replica dealer stickers, so in the absence of either doing a dealer sticker for Trinity Motors, Hinckley where I formerly worked, I got this one. Essentially a Porsche decal, however their is some family history involved. Apart from growing up and being a fan of Roger Clark (as well as Tony Pond, and the coolest driver of all, Ari Vatenan), Roger Clark's father and grandfather acquired the site in Narborough, near Leicester from my Grandfather and his business partner. This was before the Second World War. It was a garage but they wanted it for storage and operating of their bus company. During the war the buses were requisitioned for the war effort, but on return were in a poor state, so they started operating as a vehicle dealership. Ultimately it would become Rogar Clarks Porsche, Lotus, TVR centre.

Spent the evening trying to remove the rear sub-frame / front mount bolts, as the mount is a bit rusty!

first bolt is turning OK, second bolt head rounded of, so hopefully a bit of heat will help.

Bit of gardening today - with the car on ramps whilst I replace a subframe mount, I noticed a damp patch below the front end of the sill. Poke with a small screwdriver in the drain and about half a pint drained out. So removed the front wheel arch liner so that I can remove the sill plug, and dug out loads of 'soil' trapped behind.

Once it has dried out the sill box will get a dose of Dinitrol LT, and the outer ends any rust treated and a coat of Hammerite.

Subframe mount replaced ( if you have the correct 105mm bolt it will just fit in from the front without disconnecting any other subframe mounts), subframe and rear of chassis treated with Fertan, engine masked off with old sheets etc, and subframe lower section and rear of floor pan / rear bulkhead sprayed with Dinitrol 4941. Despite doing it outside on ramps, it was a bit warm, even in just a boilersuit

Still on ramps whilst the Dinitrol cures properly so had to take the Midget to work today :D

Moved it sideways about 2 feet, easier said than done as I only have 3 feet to move back and forwards.

Washed her for the first time in over 2 years, and as I was drying her off, the skies opened!

Finally got sick and tired of not having an F to drive, it was in my garage waiting for me to finish off the timing belt job,
so I got up at 6am on a Sunday morning and finished it! The belt was on and timing all checked, all that was left was to bolt the belt cover and starter motor on, and of course the engine access panel; and start it up.

Need to replace the spare tyre, birthday next week, 20 years old.

Tried to fix the holes in my top with black thread and a bent needle. I'm somewhat satisfied with the result.

Also exchanged the orange side blinkers for white/grey ones, looks nice next to the fender stickers me thinks

I used a leather conditioner on the seats and did a repaint of the steering wheel and gear knob, as they looked pretty worn, looks better now...

Cheers mate, how many hours to get the timing belt job done?

Mine turned 20 last month, got her a few treats, more to come.

Picked up a Draper 18mm 6 point socket from Toolstation on the way to work - wheelnut sorted :D . Is it me or have decent quality sockets plummeted in cost - £3.20 in Toolstation for a decent looking Draper socket, I'm sure a few years ago I was paying around £15 for similar single sockets?
