More done to the Abingdon, spring is on the way and I want to get it back on the road.
Up early and before breakfast fitted my Toyosports stainless exhaust manifold on. I prefitted new stainless steel manifold to head studs by MG Mania, fitted in moments and worth every penny.

From memory when I fitted mine, there's a heatshield at both ends, one to protect the alternator and the other to protect a hose, both ends of my Piper 4-2-1 are very close but it all fits no problem. Don't buy one that doesn't have these, there are some around as I found out.

Hmmm have to check as have agreed to buy a used performance manifold but did not notice if it had lugs for the heat shileds or not. If not then guess I'll have to wrap it unless we can somehow otherwise fit the shields.

When I fitted the Toyosports s/s manifold to Cully I knocked out the two studs holding the lower bracket in place. This was then refitted when I bolted the flexi pipe to the manifold. This gives at least two mounting points for the heat shield. Yet I doubt this would work on a 4-2-1.

Hi
Over the last Couple of days I have
Cleaned hood and re waterproofed it
Put new catches and new stainless steel bolts on it and also done same on hood holder on top of windscreen housing and new stainless steel screws in the sun visors .
Cleaned and polished rear plastic window in hood
Cleaned and given the cab a vac over
Washed out all of the area under front bonnet and paintwork in the boot area
Fixed some loose paneling around the dash area
Put leather arm rest in
Started to clean/feed the leather seats
I know it's only cosmetic but George looks better for it .
We are going to Surrey in the morning .
Will be going to brooklands then local airport Fairoaks for lunch .
That will give George a good run out .
Sorted insurance out went on compare the market just to have a look got a good deal and it was half price of others with same cover .
I miss mo but I know tony will look after him
Everyone at work are bowled over by George .
I need to get a CD player for George not sure to go for mg one (original one for the f was a cassette player )
Or a new one ?
Will have to wait till payday .
Going to book George in at college motors for a week on Saturday for a check over in the morning .
Cannot decide whether to keep hardtop black or have it resprayed nightfire red to match the car .
If I had my way I would respray it white but Diane says that would look tacky ?
Had a good couple of days working on George .

Hi Tipper, They are made by safetydevices. ive been told these are from some racing series for mgf/ fitted to the panther cars too. im hoping they fit under the hood and it folds ok. ;-) Unfortunately I found out I need a fitting kit for it which I've ordered so ive got to wait a couple of weeks for that to come. Will definitely post pics when they're on. Martin
