Got the grease gun out and gave my old girls a proper nipple job at the upper wishbones (Steppy x4, Cully x2). Both sound much better now going over bumps.

Fitted 2 new Falken 914's to the front to match the rear, what a transformation. Can now take hands off the wheel at 71 mph if I wanted to

Fitted stage two re mapped ECU, seems a little quicker, certainly revs 7750 before cut out and snap crackle and pops on over run!
Have to wait a few weeks to see in compitition.

Nothing because I couldn't get the rear inner seat mount bolt undone to remove the seat to fit lowering springs  .

Had to fabricate a repair for the O/S wiper as it stopped working on the way to work yesterday and we're driving to the south of France today and a bit of bandage holding it together wasn't working for me.

Nice one, there is a repair clip available for this, it is a common addition to many peoples emergency spares stock (I don't have one BTW).

Thanks to the links on this web site I have reset the power steering as the steering wheel always kicked to the left on start up, tomorrow its off to get the tracking sorted as I am sure someone has played with it in an attempt to sort the pull to the left

Today I cut the paint back a bit and fitted it.

Haven't had a chance to go for a test drive yet, but I'm hoping to feel positive results after reading this and other forums.

Broke a lug on the driver’s side door handle yesterday. Chrome pack, bugger!

Got a replacement today (with a charcoal surround) for 65 euros (!) and fixed the issue. Took the handle out and fitted it to the original surround. Also greased all moving parts well. Will go back in tomorrow when I’ll be in the shed to tackle the wheel bearing.

Well i got home from holiday in Menorca to 5 parcels and 1 to collect. 3 of them were for the F and 2 got fitted tonight.

The pictures speak for themselves but as always there was a spanner in the works.

First job today was to tackle the common stuck roof bar. There's no way i was paying over £20 for some elastic so i made my own for very little

Works a treat

Next was the dent on the wing
DSC_0083.JPG
I couldn't get a mint wing so i paid £40 delivered for a wing with a couple of dings and minor scratches. Its an improvement for now

What did I do on my MGF today? Nothing special, thinks I, have to refuel her. So drove to the pump and look here! That’s what I call empty. :o

Got Lily out for a quick run this afternoon, first chance for a drive since fitting the front splitter
Lil_spoiler.jpg
and changing the gearbox oil the other day
Gearoil.jpg
and fitting new gear cable ends today!
Cables.jpg
She feels pretty good, gearchange is more precise far less sloppy. Not sure about the splitter effects yet really as I need a motorway cruise I think. But I'm a happy chappy :thumbsu:

Today i replaced the discs and pads all round. They were only replaced a few years and a few thousand miles ago but due to the low use they were extremely corroded and glazed beyond salvage. They caused judder and required excessive brake force.

So new discs and pads. The fronts were a pain as everything was seized, including the callipers which i had to pump out, push back the dust deal and clean off a ridge of corrosion with wd40 and a rag. Eventually i could force the piston back, wirebrush the carrier and for the pads.

The rears were straight forward, only one hitch as i struggled to remove the calliper before realising the handbrake was on.

Doesn't stop any better yet but i imagine it will improve as they bed in.

The other job i did was to replace the rotary coupler with a new one from China. Straightforward, horn and gears working perfectly now.
