I wanted to go to York in mine yesterday with the roof down as we stayed over for the night but the missus demanded we went in the Audi. When I got to the Holiday Inn, there was a silver TF parked at the entrance so I felt more upset. I was going to wash and polish mine today but feel too hungover to do anything.

audi or mg?mmmmm I know which I would choose. my grand Cherokee is a cracking beast but much prefer mg with top down and does a bit better than 12mpg.

I checked that the Float Charger light was Green as we got the Shopping Trolley out of the other Garage. The "F" is not allowed in the Supermarket Car Park battleground.
As it is Sunday today. it will do the Lunchtime Pub Run.

Ive been buffing up my alloy throttle body

changed the interior lights to led ones, no longer is the interior yellow at night its a nice bright white. I did buy enough led bulbs to do the number plate lights but the screws have rusted out so ill have to think of another plan for those.

Thinking of doing my interior bulbs with led, whats number if the bulbs? I may have to invest. Any issues with the auto dimming with led fitted? tryed them in my previous car and it wouldn't go out completely without haveing a standard bulb in the cercuit.

mirror bulbs are standard 501 wedge bulbs same as side lights and the bottom lights are 39mm tungsten. no problems with dimming they just go straight off. I did happen to but 20 of the tungsten bulbs just in case ill post you a couple if you want to pay for the postage pal.

Nope, gave up pretty quickly as the screw became more circular!

im thinking of trying soldering iron on the screw before I round my heads off, bit of heat sometimes helps, if worst il endup melting them out.

im thinking of just trying to drill mine out. don't think it will take much to be honest, there seems to be more rust than metal left in the screw. if all else fails I think the led bulbs will last longer than the car so I could always just glue the light lens back on.

I had the same issue on Project Shed, getting it ready for it's first MoT. The screws were rotten and there was nothing for the screw driver to bite into.

I took both bulb holders off the car and used a dremel-type tool to cut slots in what remained of the screw heads. This didn't work on all of them - for the remainder I ground the heads off. This caused some plastic melt, but I was able to remove the clear bulb cover and then use a pair of pliers to unscrew what remained of the fastener.

I bought a packet of stainless self tappers - so I don't anticipate having the same problem again

thanks for the offer of the bulbs, thought the other day I at some previous point ordered some off eBay for the caravan but were too wide for the covered, found them last night and put them in footwell lights, much better. Replaced the ones in mirror with some zenon gassed 501s to still have a good courtesy light. Might have another go at number plate lights at weekend.

I spent three hours last night cleaning my F, inside and out.




We went mushroom hunting with the F a few days ago, so it had dirt from our boots on the carpets, and dust and mud on the outside.

I did the whole monty while I was at it... wiping the dashboard, door cards and centre console with a wet cloth and then putting a vinyl care product on it with a sponge. I then cleaned some dirt spots on the leather with 70-percent isopropanol ("rubbing alcohol"; highly recommended for tough leather stains that won't come out with water or leather soap... ask your local pharmacy, it's inexpensive too) and then I put on leather lotion.

For the exterior, I used a soft sponge and car shampoo as well as soft top cleaning foam and special alloy wheel cleaner, before hosing the car down with a hose pipe.

The Audi leather lotion really is terrific. It's glycerol based and non-greasy, and does a great job keeping leather smooth and soft. It also does smell nice.
