My autochanger is behind the drivers seat, I got a 6 disc changer as it's thinner, and we're both quite short.
Behind the passenger seat we have a Kenwood under seat active amp to give us a bit of bass.
I slipped a bit of hardboard behind the carpet to attach them too, don't drill into the bulkhead (fuel tank!)

What is the head unit? Is it the single disk CD43? I could change the head unit for a radio and tape or just a redio then fit a standard cd changer like the Kenwood but the car came with the CD43.

It's a Kenwood, no idea what model but it isn't a MG unit.

Had the wheels refurbished and painted along with front bumper, fixed the knock from the hardtop clamps and then replaced some rusty bolts under the bonnet

Untwisted my trailer by adding the missing bolt from the chassis, only been like that since 2006 when I bought it as an ex demo from the local Do-It-All. Also added a couple of extra bolts to the body to replace the incorrect bolts that were letting the body mis-shape when strapping in stuff.

MGF relavence - I use it for moving MGF parts.

Tarted up the rather sad looking APs on the front .....

Finished fitting the Gaz adjustable shocks and replaced the old radiator with a shiny new alloy one.
Also took delivery of the new VVC control mechs from Mike Satur, so hoping to cure the engine rattle soon.
Think it may be best not to add up how much money this car has had lavished on it!

Not really done much today, other than take the car out (roof down of course) for a little drive around my local area and to make the most of the late autumn sunshine. It's been a lovely day here today 17°C and not a cloud in sight. Here are a couple of pics I took on the way round...

The first one is on a minor road between Bessèges and the Château of Portes, looking East towards the Rhône valley. Mont Ventoux can be seen in the distance (on the horizon to the right of the photo, about 60 miles as the crow flies) it's a lovely clear day and you could also see the snow on the Alps and Mont Blanc in the far distance. (unfortunately the definition of the picture doesn't show it)



The second photo is just below the Chateau of Portes, just off the Alès- Villefort road, looking north. In the background is the Mont Lozère plateau at 1700 metres (higher than Ben Nevis).

Still got a few bits to do which I can't post pics of yet, well not till after the 25th anyway

New flexi pipe, S/H bonnet from mgfntfbitz, S/H rear bumper and boot lid, silver side vents and a new mot with no advisories!!

Oh, and somehow repaired a alarm/cdc fault by the magic of taking it apart and looking at it whilst scratching my head then reassembling it!!

Today I fitted a new rear screen after breaking the old one last week by putting the hood down when it was cold. Had to change the zip carrier too as the zip was not a normal MG one. One Peter Jones of MGF Mania was extremely helpful and knew exactly what I was talking about. Thank you Peter!
That followed changing the NSR caliper as the handbrake mech had seized.

Starting prepping car for its mot which is due in under 3 weeks...So in between passing heavy showers I replaced rear discs and pads, cleaned and greased handbrake mechanism and gave calliper a coat of hammerite......

Here’s my DIY guide.....
Theory V Reality

To change discs and pads. Remove road wheel, remove calliper, unbolt disc and replace with new, insert new pads into calliper, reassemble ...

Reality, Try and remove road wheel to find it bonded to hub, use various levers to remove....unbolt calliper , using the strength of 10 men to shift bolts that haven’t seen daylight for years, spend 30 minutes cleaning gunk off callipers, remove disc bolts........err, no chance...use impact wrench until nothing left of screw, whack with centre punch, drill to relieve pressure and insert eazi out, snap easi out in hole, drill with HSS drill bit to no effect, eventually hammer eazi out through previous drilled hole, drill larger hole until drill bit snaps off, remove remains of drill bit using brute force, tap threads to clean them up ....coppaslip and paint everything before reassembly .....all done between heavy rain showers......so much for a quick bit of diy servicing .....

I have recently changed for new flexi-pipes, callipers, discs and pads all round. No problems.
If the wheel is seozed then ensure the car is supported on axle stands, put the nuts on loosely and kick the tyre sidewall at top, bottom front and rear.
The caliper bolts are intended to be seized using thread lock. Use a flank drive 1/2 in drive socket and a 18in breaker bar. Did you use Loctite on the rebuild ???
The disc retaining screws are removed by selecting the correct size drive bit (there are about 6 sizes), fitting it in a 1/4 in drive socket, a 1/4 to 3/8 drive adaptor and a 6 in drive extension. Give the end of the extension a couple of slight taps with a hammer. Fit the "T" drive bar, push hard against the hub and wind out the screw.

New EBC red stuff pads front and rear.
My job was more like the theory, went very nicely.

To change pads. Remove road wheel, remove brake fluid from reservouir, remove calliper, retract calliper piston, insert new pads into calliper, reassemble, top up brake fluid

Eventually got round to sorting out the fitting of the Anniversary door decals...scoops and putting "back" the other bits and bobs after the paint refresh

Repaired the broken wire on the temperature gauge sensor using a soldering iron and a length of wire. Cockpit readings now restored
