Calling all Pride of Longbridge attendees

Post by Phil_B » Thu Apr 03, 2014 10:37 am

As a bit of a last minute decision, the Register is having a club stand at this event this year and I have agreed to try and get it organised.

As part of the club stand we will have space for 10 cars so we are looking for some people to fill those spaces :thumbsu: at present there are 7 spaces left.

Our plan currently is to arrive between 9:45 and 10:00 and get parked up in our area as soon as we can.

So if you are going to this event and would like to display your car on the club stand then please let me know ASAP. either by replying here, emailing the address in my sig or by PM.

Cheers

Phil

I am afraid as it is a club stand you will not be able to trade from it if you are hoping to do that on the day but if there is still space you are welcome if you just wish to display your car.

Hi Phil, I'm planning to be there on Saturday but was unsure whether to take an MGF or the MG Express van! If you're short of a vehicle, I could bring my very early '95 'F; it's reasonable, not immaculate, but it is an early 'SAC' registered car. A standard MPi in BRG - as so many were!

Seems a couple are traveling from the North West...Maybe a bit of a meet up & convoy could be organized?

Not made any plans Matey - kinda hoping someone may make a plan and invite everyone?

May be a bit late for you with your plans to be on display, but we usually aim to make Hopwood services for about 10:00am (ish) as there are normally a few MG type people meeting there before setting off in Convoy to Cofton Park.

I think we will have to meet at Hopwood around 9:30am as the people on the stand are coming from all directions. I think the big convoy is leaving there a bit earlier, but that may not be the only one.

That sounds like a plan!

9:30am @ Hopwood services. :)

It takes approx. 1 & 3/4 hours for us to get there.

Probably more like two hours minimum for us, do you need us there at any particular time Phil ?

At this stage I'm not sure Adrian. There should be some details coming out from the organisers today which may give us more info. But it's just whether we want to all arrive together (ish). If the info is scant then this might be the best option, but if there is some detail about entrances and times then we can figure it out from that.

If the field is soft or wet we may have trouble getting up the slope (as in previous years). Where are you planning on setting up ?

Hi All,

OK, so I've got the info through from Keith so how about the following for a plan?

Meet up at Hopwood Park Services sometime before 9:30 with a view to leaving at 9:30 for Cofton. It's about a 10 minute drive but I suspect there will be a bit of a queue when we get there. There is a large convoy leaving at 9:15 so hopefully most of them will be in by the time we get there.

We are in section AJ on the attached map.
POL 2014 lay out.jpg
Those on the club stand will need to display this code in our windows on arrival to help the marshals direct us so if you can print the attached word document out that would be great. I will bring some copies anyway but just in case you do not make the meet up before for any reason.

Any questions or queries please don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers

Phil
