Well, owing to some stunning planning on my part (not!), both my MGFs are now booked in for their MoT's this Saturday.

Double trouble.

Time for fingers to be crossed me thinks!!!

that's nothing, mine ran out in march so had to mot it two weeks ago, this is a week after the grand Cherokee mot, one week after scooter mot and sports bike mot is now allso overdue by 3 weeks. now that's unlucky

Rob,
You'll do it! I managed it last weekend with two in two hours, but only starting the preparation less than an hour before the first one was due (returned the day before from 3 weeks working away followed by compulsory domestic distractions from swmbo). Not ideal, but £109.70 lighter and two MOTs with no advisories! No money spent, or servicing on both, in last 12 months. Woohoo!

I'll do a quick once over before heading over, but one of the bulbs in the high level brake light has gone. Irritating - but not as bad as your typical Mercedes (why is it that all Mercs over 3 years old have failed high level brake lamps??? Mine lasted over 16 years before one failing!)

Should be interesting. I should probably clean the K&N ahead of time - it's been a couple of years since I last did that job.

Fingers crossed I'll be lucky as you Charles!

Robbie, unfortunately the MoT has already expired on one too! Oooooops!!!!

Hope it goes well Rob - both my F's went in one after the other - one failed on emissions and the other on a wishbone - all sorted now but double the stress levels in one day not the greatest planning !

I am not anticipating any major disasters - but I have spare head lights in case the refectors have deteriorated too far, and even have a pair of brand new lower wishbones "just in case"!

I hope you had better luck than me.

Slightly off topic but I bought some universal wheel spacers from flea bay - meant to be 10mm --- I bought them to bring out the fronts due to catching inner arch at full lock.

They arrived today and guess what - I looked at them and thought these dont look 10mm. measure between 6.3 and 7.2 with the micrometer. strange because 10mm would have been too big and failed on that.

Odd regarding the spacer - surely a 10mm spacer should be 10mm thick?

The person that posted them was 10mm thick. Honest mistake on their part i feel. They gave me a full refund no quarms.

Nuts. Double fail.

N7RMB has a noisy off side front wheel bearing and Project Shed has fallen foul of new MoT rules stipulating that the drivers seat must move back and forth as originally designed. Boo!

I've refitted original driver's seat (which needed removal of the roll cage side impact bars

)

It's a bit more luxurious now: I've put in footwell mats (to prevent any more paint wearing away!) and reverted to a glass side window: the plastic one simply wasn't fit for purpose sadly

Well that's a rubbish new rule. I can see a lot of modified cars falling foul of that and a lot of Airbag lights being set off at the MOT centre.

Luckily they failed to spot that the srs light no longer functions on project shed!

But yes, I agree. I was under the impression that Motorsport cars were dealt with differently, but there was no arguing with them...

I'll get a retest on Project Shed Monday. Then refit the race seat and side bar!!!

Ill book N7RMB in for the wheel bearing (I'm not convinced that it isn't the brake pads; I'll check tomorrow...) but if the bearing, I don't have the time nor the bearing press to do the job...

It is irritating the MOT centre failed SCRAPHEAP on rubbing front wheels so I went home put 15s on the front only drove back and it passed drove home again and put my 17s back on its a ridiculous system. I understand a test is needed but common sense on the testers part would be useful.

Oh my old 156 track car failed on Airbag light on even though it didn't have any airbags or an airbag ecu. Crazy
