And hearing things.. Mostly BS it seems from one corner

On a side note.. Wonder how many F /TFs exist in after market one off colours?

For example.. Mine, Andy Watsons and Tracy's are all one off's.. No other F/TF that colour..

Know its impossible to count.. But wonder how many F/TF owners have re-sprayed in either custom colour of non MG colour..

Maybe we should start a register for those

You love it really :D - Besides, we could finally get all the coloured cars to part together with a separate group entitled "Other"

The "other" car in question (BN54OET) is currently:

- Taxed till end of September
- Not MOT-ed (Expired 3rd March '14)
- Is listed as "Red" according to the DVLA....
- Has emissions of 179g/km (135?)

Stuart, does your V5 say "Aurora" or "Red"? :)

Is this an Aurora Hardtop? or is it just a trick of the light?

If so, could this be the "other" Aurora car?

Think that hard top is Firefrost red ?? seams more solid than the "flip" of Aurora ??? ... but im probably wrong ;)
just something else ive noticed ... the Aurora ??? on the French site does not have a 160 badge on the side ??? ... is this a 135 or other ??? or just been left off ??

Dave J

Edit ... scrub that ... my 160 hasn't got a 160 badge on the side ... Although Stu's Aurora has ?? ...think i'l just shut up and go and sit in a dark room ;)

The sunstorms were only brought out in limited numbers (500) & colours, black / silver & nightfire red.
So it's probably just a Nightfire red hardtop off a sunstorm, same as the one hung up in our garage.

On a side note - those 17" wheels - would they really fit an MGF/TF with AP brakes with / without issues?

I think there were a few spec changes on the 05 cars, including moving the 160 badge from the rear to the side. Im not sure what other changes there was though.

I dont think the 17s he has listed will fit Fs / TFs.

They wont fit... they are for a ZR/ZS (4 x 100) whilst the MGTF has a different fitment (4 x 95.25, from memory).

I Had Alessio Alaska's (from Mike Satur) on the F, they fitted perfectly, I'll pop up a picture later I'm still ploughing through data just recently received.

I'll get the details on the Sunstorms later for you too.

I must say we really enjoyed MG90

Was my second time & Daz's first

Because of the time line the confusion the parking on the Sunday previous to POO registration was frustrating... For both exhibitors & marshals by the heated conversations... Over heard one Marshall saying they can't leave the cars there we will have them towed away didn't go down well

On the whole it was a great weekend and would be easy just to nit pick

I'd like to see the modified cars parked together and not just amongst the f/tfs

I'd also like to see something for the kids..... the club has mg benjy so maybe just a kids area... face painting... bouncy castle.... With not having any not sure what they like these day

They are the future so would be nice to get them involved

would just like to say thanks to all the organisers

It gets worse, the data from MGRover shows this 160 as Starlight Silver, I won't give the vin here but the DVLA shows it as Red.

The more you delve in to these cars history the more interesting it gets. Rich/Paula you're almost correct with your diagnosis, the bulk of the Sunstorms is indeed Starlight Silver, followed by Black and they are available in 115, 135 and 160 versions, no stepspeed.

This is where it gets interesting : There are 1,073 Sunstorms (dealers have been known to create a nice round number to think new models are quite rare, such as 500 Trophy's and Abingdons I have heard of). Now the third colour is not Nightfire, that's only for F's, it's Nightfire 3 so that now lays doubt to the paint look up chart I have as this colour according to the data is one of the seven unique TF's).

By the way, here's my F in Sweden with the 17" wheels
