Aurora TF160 - My new toy!
So as not to hijack another thread, here is Aurora as requested, possibly the only one? (to be confirmed) Definately not many about.
This all sounds like a fairy story but here goes....
After selling my Volcano F a couple of years ago & having a brief fling with an SLK 230k I decided I would have another MG but it had to be a 160. It had to have under 60k miles, It had to be Black or Red with Grenadine interior as theres no way Id find a Shot silk, Bittersweet or Aurora is there?
After months of searching, going on ebay, autotrader, PH etc maybe 10 times a day somedays, I had almost given up but I was told to hang on & the right one would come along eventually.
The seller of this car says it had been listed less than an hour when I phoned at 5pm, by 7pm I was in Rochdale handing over a deposit.
The old lady was retiring from driving due to a bad hip, it had only covered 5k miles in the last 4 years, currently just over 26k. It has Colour coded hardtop, glass rear screen, A/C, unused tonneau cover, unused spare key, fullsize spare that looks like it may have done a couple of hundered miles, rim is like new.
The only negatives is a few stone chips & a bit of laquer damage where something was splashed onto the car & not removed for a few weeks. Its cleaning up quite well!!
Im very happy with it as you can probably guess.

Hi Stu, welcome to the one off Club.
Your car is indeed the only Aurora MGTF Built 09/03/2005 at 12.00:17 dealer delivery code H9376 (do you know where it first went from the V5 ?). Dave will be your newest best friend now. The factory closed just one month after this car was built.
Congratulations, a stunning car and a beautiful colour I hope to see it one day.

Re: Aurora TF160 - My new toy!
Well I had hoped it would help me get me some hot chicks but I spose beggars cant be choosers - lol
The lady I bought it from had it from new. She spotted it in the showroom at Horners at Rochdale & fell in love with it. She said she had just retired & bought it herself as a retirement present.
So what about the 54 plate Aurora Ive seen on some French? site? Is that not a real one or could there be n error somewhere?

Re: Aurora TF160 - My new toy!
Probably a replica, judging by the vin and the delivery date a 54 plate couldn't be an Aurora.

Re: Aurora TF160 - My new toy!
That IS a gorgeous colour and nice to see the interior looking as good as the exterior!
Obviously well worth the wait.
You do realise of course that you'll now have to organise a national tour! You might even be able to recoup some of the cost by charging admission!!!

Hi Stu, do you still have the link to the French site ?, I check European sites regularly for data. Could it be a French 54 (region rather than year)instead of British but nevertheless it can't really be Aurora anyway but I'd love to see.
You might like to see this (taken from MGR data of course) ;

Very nice Dave!
There aren't many F/TFs I would trade my Volcano VVC for but yours is one of them. Latter day Volcano!

Re: Aurora TF160 - My new toy!
It doesn't show the colour too well on the photos, its like Nightfire Red that flips through a lighter Red to Volcano.
