Track starter
Never been near a track so wondered if anyone could suggest a good place to start.

Re: Track starter
Your best bet is to join the MGs on Track group of the MG Car Club http://www.mgs-on-track.com/
They will get you out on track in your car in a safe manner but give you the thrill of being there.

They run novice meetings as well.
Home to black Alfa 159 3.2 V6 Q4, blue MGZR160, green MGF VVC and grey MGF 1.8i, and red MG Maestro T16.

Re: Track starter
There's always some novices at track days organised by MGOT. They are very welcoming. If you go, book an instruction session and you will quickly learn what to do.
I liked my first day so much I immediately booked the next! Thinking of turning my rebuild project car into a track day car too.

Hi Keith,
MGoT at North Weald in a couple of weeks time.
Best recommendation possible for you I think.
I was in a similar position to you and did this same event earlier this year.
It is 100% novice friendly.
Almost impossible to damage anything.
Really friendly in organisation and of course the other novices to chat with and learn together.
Totally worth it

Er mm... Yup!Rob Bell wrote:Tipper - the slippery slope!
Actually I don't want to totally ruin my 20k Steppie which although fun is perhaps not best suited to track work. The plan is to sell that sometime soon, probably next spring now, and concentrate on the 160 Sprint for sunny days and track days.:broon:
