Amazing, who collects cars like that, then leaves them in an open barn and does nothing with them ?
Bilstein shocks, Piper 4-2-1 manifold, Daytona, Vader cold-air induction, custom Z and F Stage 2 re-map, Electric boot release, braided hoses, Blue Magnecor leads, Technozen relays, Stage 1 head, BMW Angel Eyes headlights, "MG" puddle lights.

I used to have a Maxi, inherited it from my grandad. Comfortable in a straight line but like a boat on corners!

In the top picture of the link there is a car at the end of the row that superficially looks like a Maxi, not sure what it is, but not a Maxi.

Ahhhh something is very wrony with that statement as the Maxi used hyrolastic suspension and one of the great features of it is reduced body roll. The problem was I believe poor driving  . I recall being a passneger in a friends fathers 1800 Mk11 and despite their bad media reputation we covered losts of miles at often illegal speeds in it and the only drame I recall happening was another friend whom we were following had the engine seize up on his Bultaco Enduro bike and both he and the bike nearly ended up under the front wheels in Essex..

A friends brother had a Mk3 GT Cortina in that same Silver which had those square headlights................................ Hmmm some good memories of the times in those cars and the places they took us. We transported a partly stripped BSA C15 in the back of anotehr friends dads Maxi :P .

Admittedly it was my first car after passing my test so probably being a bit harsh on the Maxi's cornering ability. :-)

Wasn't the Maxi said to be more aerodynamic going backwards in reverse?? Or was that an urban myth...

Fond memories of a damask red 1974 Maxi 1750 HL, allowing the MG to be used as a hobby car. It was superb, five speed box, enough room with the rear seats down to not bother with a tent. Very comfortable long distance car, being a 1750 wasn't sluggish either. Only negative, typical of the British Leyland era transverse engines it was prone to damp and water ingress around spark plugs, the weather shield not being up to the job.

Wow!

BTW, the car in the first picture sadly isn't one of Longbridge's finest (below):

What it is in fact is an ancient Peugeot 204 if I am not mistaken - as shown in picture below:
