Yes for some reason with the Mk2 MGF they changed all the electrical connector blocks and plugs as I found when fitting a Mk2 wiper motor  to my Mk1 97 MGF VVC.

here is the begin of my upcoming brain damage :

Question , maybe way too early , but , at least, its a question ... :

should i buy a two TF connectors and go from there ?

cause the Emerald worked on the BlueT as is ... i dont change anything on this harness

here we have the vvc connectors :
Connector chess part 1.JPG
now it would be cool to get the "other side" from the TF ...

if an electric authority could say yes or no to my approach ...

i need a beer for this upcoming drama ...

It might and I stress MIGHT be easier to fit a mk2/TF loom to your car.

i was afraid , you point in this direction ...

i think , it´s good to ask and to get some , thinking about this and that ... and your idea is really to consider ... hmm, the whole shabang to the front ? ( OH NOOOO ! im afraid ...)
takes me a year ...

and this thing has to drive me to the MGFIM in May ...

after i get a night of sleep over it , and i will get a picture of all the adventures following ...

we´re putting all the information together and in the new year well choose a route , that will hopefully lead to success ...

i gave Dave Walker a message ... waiting for him to response , and whe he´s says the BR guys made it , i´m in real trouble , cause they have an problem to answer some simple questions ...

made me nuts to hear , that they dont answer even a well known Rob Bell ...

so thanks to tinker with me a bit, about this quest ...

and i read about a conversion documentation from Rob "from mem1.9 to 2 to 3" ...

maybe i can supply some informations with my doing ... and what i do is learning by doing ...

so, please , scream , "dont do that idiot" , when i´m suppose to do something "mad" on my wish list ...

Thanks !

Looking at http://www.emeraldm3d.com/earlier-ecus (you probably have) I guess that it would be easier to swap the plugs on your car to the later ones to match the plugs on the emerald.

Was the 2006 TF a VVC or normal car?

Reading more on the emerald site I expect they could make you a loom to fit your car.

OK, this is the car i got the emerald from :

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=18589&p=149572&hili ... bo#p149572

its been a 135 and the emerald is , valid info from Dave Walker himself , a K3 !

and also got the emerald engine harness from this car , worked on this car , non vvc ...

the question is : who made the harness ? dave walker or the bbr guys ... ?

as the harness already worked , i look for the easiest "possible way" to make it fit ...

solution searched for : 1998 mgf with 1.8t engine , K3 Emerald and TF motor harness and the rest is mk 1 ...

Please, a solution for the idiot , who thougt it was an "relatively" easy swap ...

for an mk2 maybe yes , for my MK1 : "interesting" , LOL !

Im not afraid to solder , really ... but to find the right ones , to solder together , thats another story , right now ... haha ...

Thanks for your help ! :thumbsu:

Master Mykel "made" me a complete labeled "connector socket" to solve my harness connector problem ! :thumbsu:

spent some time warm and safe in his basement ...huh !

And an explanation "how to" read the electric manual ...

I will hopefully solder the right cables together and it should work then ... fingers crossed !

and i wrenched the search function and i´ve been through countless pages of knowledge, really ...

( i ve read absolutely fantastic things , unbelievable ... steel cage bearings on my list now and motorcycle throttle bodies custom made , holy cow ! )

BUT could´t find a thread where the oil filter is displaced by somewhat 90 degrees ...

can someone please point me to this , i think i run out of space, when i try to fit the 76mm diameter exhaust ...

would like to read something about that ...

thanks !

I promised to upload some more pictures of Cadde's turbo manifold fabrication, so here goes! :)

Looks as though its coming along nicely :)

Personally I'd stick with the ZT's MEMS 3, but otherwise the solution is to make an interface cable between the emerald and the MEMS 3 wiring loom... I'm not sure whether Dave Walker actually sells one? Might be with a look? :)

The first and third pictures look to be the fabrication of a jig so that the new manifold mounts the turbo in the same place as the BBR GTi version. Picture 2 is the manifold taking shape...

There, hope that's clearer!

Thanks Rob !

And to be clear , it´s NOT ME who is actually building this manifold, its the "Rheinkiter" Markus Braun from Düsseldorf who is so kind and is building this for me.

And in response i give his children a longlife guitar and music support.

That´s the deal ...

An we´ve had a great night in Düsseldorf together , touring all the clubs ...

My project would have been with full throttle into the toilet, when i haven´t some supporters alongside over here ...

And i´ve read me whole night through the ADAM MGTF The MG-TF VTEC Project Thread ( wow, amazing ! ) and even this incredible, knowledgable guy got some help along the way ...

so i´m not cheating completely ...

so, and so a small part came today (!) from the post man ...
i´m pissing my pants , more cables ... but less than Adams ...
i´m pissing my pants , more cables ... but less than Adams ...
Mykel has sent me the MK1 / Emerald connector harness , already fitted with little "where to solder" flags/signs on it ... i´m going to make several connectors , will get me a spare harness to dont cut everything ... so to leave everything functional ...

still a lot questions , and i have still a lot to fiddle out :sf: , but thats the fun about it, isnt it ?

Until now i´m not asking Dave Walker ... as long i can make/brake it by myself ...

he´s the last option ... but great to know he is there ... :thumbsu:

4,5 Months ... the clock is ticking ...

Happy new year !

Thanks again , Rob ! :thumbsu:

Ive asked him if its steel and he´s responded , no thats V2A , 5 mm thick , never rusting whatsoever ... no cracking , cause of the thickness of the material ...

sounds epic to me !

and i assume he is near finishing it , so THE mayor step was taken ... GREAT JOB MARKUS , yep , he´s an artist too !! :thumbsu:

if you have the right tools, hmmm ... it looks pretty easy to make ... ( yep , i have no clue, right, there you have it ... )

and compare this to Koos Medusa Manifold, what seems to be an pulse optimized same lengh top notch manifold ... ( whatever the name of this thing is ) this is way more a standard manifold ...

no clue to build a manifold like that Koosimedusa, really ... some computer were involved in this , i assume ... he might can answer this somedays , xr3tf ? huhu ?

but this one fits nicely, is ( somewhat ) easy to build and brings hopefully a few horses and let the air easy flow around it , i have an idea of an air flow from under the car to the manifold ...

we´ll see ...

So the next steps are to solder the harness , Turbo + manifold , to build the exhaust, install water intercooler , a few hoses and thats it ... and then : hopefully it runs ...

otherwise ...

Shoot me ... haha ...
