Shame it's just a shell and some books really. I guess Mike Satur would be the people to talk to looking at the shell.
Thinking about the ebay name I think someone bought from them.and the paypal payment went to mike satur

IIRC Rimmers had some shells at £995.

Re: Claimed factory (?) MGF rally car.
Wow. I actually like this car quite a lot (probably because I am mad). BUT if this really is a genuine rally car, it would be a shame to lose it.
I am very interested in the build documents for the MGF Trophy. The MGF Trophy was for circuit racing rather than rallying - which is odd, but these documents are like "Hen's teeth" these days and are worth obtaining/ keeping/ preserving. You even get a build manual for the VHPD engine!
The size of this job looks similar to what I have had to do with Project Shed: it is quite a significant project. If a genuine motorsport car, replacing the body shell would be akin to Trigger's broom, and its integrity would be lost.
It is also a shame that so much of the original motorsport components have been lost; to replace them would be a considerable undertaking.
What we are looking at here is a labour of love by someone with time, money and quite a but of space!!

I've just emailed the seller to provide more provenance for the car (and to see whether I can get a copy of the build manuals!)

Agreed! I have also dropped Mike Satur an email about this car: it has both his livery and his F-ONE body kit panels fitted to it, so hopefully he can shed some light on this, er, shed. It's not too far from his Yorkshire base either...

Shock mounts not beefed up?
Looks more like a stock F that's had a body kit fitted.. then ripped off.. and some stickers applied..

Re: Claimed factory (?) MGF rally car.
It is a genuine car. I have now spoken to both Paul (the eBay vendor) and Mike Satur (who the car belongs to) and can confirm that it is indeed a French series Rally Car that Mike used to rally.
Although it comes with MGF Cup build manuals, it hasn't been prepared to MGF Cup specification - but then the rally cars never were, so this is a bit of a red herring.
I suspect that "what you see is what you get" - and if old competition cars are of interest to you, then this is a bone fide car - albeit in many pieces and a very major project!
Actually, if I were starting from scratch with Project Shed, this would have made an interesting starting point!
If I get any more information I'll let you know.

Shame it's so far gone. Did you find out if there was any differences (suspension etc) coming with it or just the cage.
A Rally MGF is definitely an interesting proposition.

Tony, both subframes and gearbox are with this car. I haven't had much more detail, but could arrange a visit to investigate further... Fancy a trip "oop north"?

Re: Claimed factory (?) MGF rally car.
If only I had the time Rob. Unfortunately with having 2 MGs, a Rally team to look after and a day job and uni, I can't find time to get my TF through the MOT let alone think about another project (as cheap as it may potentially be) it would certainly bee an interesting project if images of the complete car could be located so the body kit could be produced for it.

Re: Claimed factory (?) MGF rally car.
I am tempted - but this one would be even more work than the Shed: at least the shell was completely straight and unmolested! This car comes with a spare body shell - but that would be too easy.
I am currently in a "no-space and no-time" scenario. If I did get it, I would probably have to store it in a barn for the next 10 years before getting round to rebuilding it!!!

^It is a wise man that avoids asking himself sometime further down the line, that age old question we have all asked ourselves at one time or another.....
Why the f### did I do that??
