Mechanical, brought it through the engine bay bulkhead, where the heater pipework used to come in.

I reckon the electrical version is probably easier to fit (and is likely a little lighter over all ;)) but yes, you're right - that's a good way to plumb the gauge in :thumbsu:

What gauge did you use?

I took the gauges out of the old race car they're all autometer procomp ultralite

Well, I now know why I have been having problems working out the wiring diagrams, even though I have a 03 reg it has an MGF wiring loom/fusebox not a TF one :x . So, I've been trying to work out how the fog light cct works, here's a pic any ideas? I need/want to use them as rain lights but have removed the factory switch, I can't find where the RY from the switch connects to the MFU and can't work out how the whole cct works.

Ok, having had another good long look at this, I am going to take the feed from fuse 9 (UR) disconnect it from the MFU (cut) and extend it to the switch I have installed

The only acronym I understood in this was TF!
I don't think I will ever get auto electrics.

I have to admit it was much simpler when all you had to worry about were the tremblers in the trembler coil ignition system.

Heat shrink fest this weekend capping all the wire tails left from stuff no longer required.

Fuel pressure regulator moved into the boot today, small bracket made to support the air box, finished off the engine bay plumbing and sorted out the demist ducting.

In the long term it may be worth making a stripped down loom, you'll be amazed how much the stripped out wiring weighs.

I've trimmed all the unwanted/needed wiring back to the plugs/headers leaving a 2" tail just in case.

Well, I've bitten the bullet and ordered an RPX boot lid without internal framework.

Connected up the battery yesterday and the master cut off switch is goosed, so I've had to order a new one :(

New boot lid arrived from RPS yesterday, so for a short break from pulling my hair out with the wiring I fitted it. I have also come to the conclusion that the car is a bastard child, I am having to use mgf and mgtf wiring diagrams as it uses some one and some of the other  .

Remind me, what age is your car?

The TF loom and the mk2 F loom are very similar.

OK anyone got a wiring diagram for the multi function unit. I have removed the 5as unit and am wondering if it had feeds to the mfu that are needed ?.?

Early ‘03s use a late MGF wiring loom with the Lucas MFU - hence the oddities you’re finding.

The wiring diagram suits pre-2000 MGFs - so yes, a MEMS3 car will be different...

Looking good though! I got Peter to make me a lightweight standard MGTF bootlid (and bonnet) :D

Got the wipers working today - I'd cut the earth  , but the intermittent and park functions aren't working - bit confused by that.

Whilst trouble shooting the MFU (which kept clicking with the ignition lives on) I unplugged the grey plug, as every time I put a fuse into the engine fuse box for the immobiliser/alarm it would blow, so followed the purple wire which went to the grey plug in the MFU. Clicking stopped - so is the immobiliser part of the MFU?

Next question, which ccts does the immobiliser disable?

1. Fuel pump
2. Injector
3. Starter

I really need a Trophy wiring diagram.
