Looks good and he seems to know its history.

Wrong about the wheels though...they're TF 160 wheels not F 160 wheels!

In case it's still for sale and anybody is looking this extraordinary car is not even a pre-production. It's vin is SPL2037M227D........etc etc so it does not conform to any regular sequence, therefore I would say it's a prototype. I assume then that the automotive author David Knowles has mixed up the vin/colour of the two cars at the launch in Geneva as this is the vin for the red one where he quotes it as the green one. First reg 02/11/2006 but it carries a 1994 number plate.
Bilstein shocks, Piper 4-2-1 manifold, Daytona, Vader cold-air induction, custom Z and F Stage 2 re-map, Electric boot release, braided hoses, Blue Magnecor leads, Technozen relays, Stage 1 head, BMW Angel Eyes headlights, "MG" puddle lights.

That VIN makes the car much more interesting - and all the more extraordinary that it still survives:it probably isn't homologated... and should have been scrapped; it probably only survived on the proviso that it was only used for racing...

Probably impossible Erik. Keep it on British plates and bring it over here once a year for the annual test. It would look good in your garage

It is 10% cheaper than yesterday.
I guess British plates also need an address and so on.
I once tried to have a British prepaid card and I was unable to top it up.

It is a lot cheaper today comparing the pound to the Euro. You have my address. Go on, you know you want to.

The posting on the MGF Register facebook page (first post dated yesterday and asking if anybody had any pictures of the car) and the advert (put on today) both give the location as Crossford, Scotland, so I guess the same. Kinda think it is a cheap shot to ask for pictures withou declaring the car was up for sale so soon after it was first on ebay.

Interesting - looks as though it survived by being converted for use in motorsport? :)

Here's a question for you all: would it be worth more if it had been presented in Motorshow condition, or is it better for it to show how it was used in "later life" revealing its true history? I think arguments could be made either way...

Rob, When it was first on the market two years ago, I was searching for a replacement for my MGF Trophy. My goal was TF 160 in Nightfire Red 3 however I did consider this MGF. I decided against it because I wanted a softop, but wasn't into the idea of taking it back to orginal, or part way orginal. It has evolved or been modified if you like into it's current state by quite some way, and that all adds to quite a rich tapestry. Reversing that would be detrimental but equally any further mods should build on and enhance the car and it's history. Seeing at MG/MGF TF events would be great.

(In the end I got a superb Firefrost TF135, very much the right choice for me).
