Actually, I was thinking of building a Supersport-style show car in the Speedster (no windscreen) format that I envisaged using the Lambo doors... Obviously, that car would feature the no-wiper conversion ;)

My 2001 Merc E-Class W210 has a single wiper, but in typical German fashion it just doesn't sweep left and right, it's more complicated than that - the arm slides on a cam which pushes the blade outwards as it moves left & right from centre in order to improve the swept area. I have no idea why they dropped it in favour of a double wiper system on later models - it has been working fine on mine for the past 16 years and over 270,000km. Mind you it doesn't rain much here...

How did you get it to park in the middle?

^^^ as James says.

I can't remember the blade length off the top of my head, but have a recollection that it is the same as one of the ones on the ZTT :)

And the Merc 190 oscillating wiper spindle is a very good idea as there are irritating areas of un-wiped screen when you sit at the standard seat height in the MGF. In the race car, with a lower seat base, this is not such a problem :)
