Phil, you will be relieved to hear that I have gone off the Mazda seats! Andy kinda got them to fit, but they will sit too high and, like you, I am was not sure of the comfort level. So back to searching for some nice MG seats.
Andy has been great and really patient with me when I change my ideas or come up with new ones!

Sergi, the car is to be it's original colour of Anthracite. Red MGs are certainly my favourite, but being a rare coloured Trophy, it has to stay original I'm afraid. It will shine though, dazzlingly so!

Wheels all been powder coated. I have a spare set of Tropy wheels though, just in case I don't like the look of these on the car. Four new Goodyear GSD2 tyres too

I've got to agree that is a smart move.

You probably know already, but some of the latterly built Trophy's had all leather seats. I had a yellow one like this. The 'Trophy 160' was still embossed in the back rest, but the fabric inlay panels were black leather too.
It was a brilliant car and I wished I hadn't had to sell it at the time!

Have you decided the final spec for the engine yet? Really looking forward to seeing this car!

Thanks Phil. The engine is being totally rebuilt, the head has been ported and polished, and I would like standard G&S valves from Race Engine Components in Wolverhampton. So nothing fancy, but worth doing. I have bigger versions of these valves in my TF and that drives amazingly.

Should be ready in about 6-8 weeks, maybe we could catch up then?

Trophy wheels, along with the ULW, are my two favourite wheel styles. The "Swedish" 6-spoke doesn't do it for me, but I think that that looks really nicely refurbished!

Which reminds me - I need to get the ZTT's wheels done, as they are in really shocking condition now

I know you are not keen on these wheels Rob, but I have to give them a try as I really like them, plus their rarity

Snap Rob - I use Trophies in the winter (possibly stronger?), but ULWs in the warmer months when less salt on the roads

Unfortunately I have never liked the ULW's. Trophy wheels and the Twist of Pepper are probably my favourites overall, but for me, there is something about the Swedish ones too...
It's a real shame that there is such a lack of choice for our car's.

Other wheels have been used on the MGF. Interestingly the Mk1 Elise uses the same Metro hubs as the MGF, so share the same "unusual" PCD. But the offset is wildly different. From memory the Elise offset is ET0. Only around 40mm different then

More common 100mm PCD can be used with an adapter (Mike Satur has these - or had them, not checked his website recently).

Or you can do as Dieseldestroyer did, and get a professional to modify the hub to take a new PCD with new wheel studs. Alan used a 5-stud pattern!

I think the TD Pro Race 1.2 looks good - and is light.

It's like building a house from scratch Mike. As time has gone on bodywork problems were encountered and sorted, plus I keep adding to Andy's list of 'to do's'. In for a penny, in for a pound!

Nice, I like it. Even got my name etched on the bell - not my idea btw!
