MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
Bought this in August 2015 as a Hillclimb/Sprint project. The Previous owner was going to scrap it
Re: MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
First task was to fabricate the roll cage to MSA blue book spec.Decided to fabricate the cage myself as I wanted to retain the std roof. By November things were taking shape
Re: MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
Next job remove the Hydragas suspension and convert to AVO coil overs

Re: MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
You will have to put an additional straight tube in from the top of the A pillar to the bottom of the A pillar, especially with the additional bend you've put in on the windscreen section.

Re: MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
Very nice work, we are lucky that we dont need a roll cage for hill climbs or club sprints.
I do have a half cage though were not allowed side bars on a road car!

Piper 4-2-1 Manifold, Daytona Back Box, Stage two Remap, Bilstein Shocks, thicker anti roll bars, PG 1 gearbox Caged bearing with type B Ltd Slip Diff. Large rear brake Kit, Toyo R888R Track/road tyres. Half Roll Cage, 4Point Harness.
Re: MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
Additional tube is not required as the tube is straight when viewd from the side

Re: MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
Thanx for additional info and any extra photos/details are always useful
Will watch this build thread closely!
Are the AVO coilovers "universal" or from a particular make/model
Oh and where are you based?

Re: MGF Hillclimb/Sprint Build
Wow! How good does that look!
Just abit jealous if I'm honest but a good incentive to crack on with mine!
Your suspension design is def the way to go and if I can sell on my newly painted hydro thingys then that will make conversion cheaper too!
Love the bonnet too! Where did you find that bad boy??
Will follow your progress closely and may even take a trip up from sunny Yorkshire when the weather improves to have a good look at her (if of course that's ok with you!)
Keep up the good work!
