Extra radio eqpt.

Post by M6VLR » Wed Feb 08, 2017 10:43 pm

I'm struggling to install a 2m/70cm radio due to available space.

Has anyone successfully installed amateur/CB radio in their F?
I don't read nothin' in scripture that says thou shall not put the pedal to the metal :D

Somewhere reasonably accessible, most controls are on the mic but ideally I'd like to still be able to see the display.

How about on the passenger side of the console?

It should fit in the air bag blank on the passenger side. Failing that, how about fitting into the glovebox with the mic coming out the side? then just flip open the door when you need to see the display. external speaker by the instrument binnacle & jobsagoodun.

The glovebox is looking like the best option, thanks for the replies.

Also illegal when driving while a two way radio isn't!

Nope, as long as it does't interfere with the safe operation of the vehicle it's perfectly legal unlike the use of a mobile phone.

If it wasn't legal several police forces would be screwed......
