K&N Air Filter
I wanted a K&N panel air filter for my 2000 MGF VVC VIN number YD515993.
From what I read I needed model 33-2647 so I brought one but it doesn't fit its slightly too big.
Can anyone tell me what model I do need?
The original filter is part number PHE100421

Re: K&N Air Filter
Rimmers even list it as the upgrade option over the PHE100421

Re: K&N Air Filter
I know the air box was made bigger for the tf yours my be just in the wrong time frame so comes in as a tf not an f.
I doubt K& N did there home work properly when making these filters. I know they made 2 cone filters for the 160 ps engine one for the TF160 and a smaller one for the Trophy

Re: K&N Air Filter
I see what your saying but the filter isn't the bigger TF size it's just a bit too big for the mk1 air box.
I'd be amazed if a company like K&N hadn't got the correct measurements and I'm the first person to come across this.
Interestingly I can't see that K&N actually list a panel filter for a 2000 MGF.
Maybe I'm just fitting it wrong but I can't see how it can go in the hole if it's too big...

Re: K&N Air Filter
Not at the moment as I've put everything back, but will do when I get a chance.
It's basically about 5mm too short and about 5mm too wide.
Can't see how I can fit it wrongly, the standard filter just goes in with no issue so a K&N filter should do also...
So thinking I've just got the wrong size filter but then this is the one that is suggested in multiple places?

Re: K&N Air Filter
The sticker on the box says 33-2647 but I suppose the wrong filter could have been put inside...
I brought it new from Euro car parts so should be correct.

Re: K&N Air Filter
Ha and now it all becomes clear...I look on the side of the actual filter and it says 33-2761 and not 33-2647 as it says on the box!
Unbelievable I've been going mad trying to fit it and work out why it doesn't fit...now to return it and get the actually filter I need!
