Does the MGF Freestyle/Trophy Bumper/Splitter actually improve the handling at all?
I find the front end becomes light at motorway speed, would the splitter make any difference?

In a word, Yes. A splitter adjusts the airflow passing under the car. Without a splitter, due to the design of the bodywork, an amount of lift is generated which is enough to lighten the front of the car enough to affect the steering. A splitter alters the air flow to produce either a neutral or downforce airflow, depending on design.

Defiantly - on our first euro tour we were unable to reach autobahn speeds with the front end lift (Pirelli P6000 tyres didn't help either), the following euro tour featured a trophy front splitter and Toyo T1R tyres and we saw the best part of 130 on one stretch on the way down towards Italy....
