I fear I have a heavier right foot. Plus, I tend to drive everywhere with the roof down. Well, except with Project Shed - which would be pretty economical were it not for aforementioned heavy right foot - particularly when racing

Yeah that's good MPGs - I struggle to hit anywhere over 30 but I have a leaky inlet mani and a knackered cat so what can I expect!

I do have a cat and backbox to stick on but I've heard it's a pig of a job...

it's not to bad Ryan, just presoak all the nuts with plusgas or similar, a grinder could be your best friend. Took me around an hour to do mine & that was with having to cut a couple of bolts off. If you're taking the cat of with the backbox it makes the job a lot simpler.

I believe that the 160 VVC engine is good with fuel economy and emissions for is age and HP, as the VVC acts over all of the engine RPM range.

I'm lucky to get mid 20's, might be the way I drive though :)

Wow that's good time, I may definitely not do it myself then or at least have a try - I will be taking the existing system off from the cat back; replacing the hanger brackets and rubbers and then fitting the new one I have, although I am currently working on separating the cat and backbox that aren't on the car so I can fit the stainless cat bolt kit

Would you recommend a nut splitter? I was going to just save myself the time and effort of undoing the bolts and just split the nuts off as I won't be reusing them - or is access a pig for using a nut splitter?

Very much looking forward to having it on as it's the TF Style circular exhaust tips rather than the oval MGF style that I currently have

to be honest I've never bothered with a nut splitter, just cut the nuts off with an angle grinder, then drilled or knocked the studs out. if you're lucky they will shear off :)

Just filled mine up - 50 litres over 372 miles = 33mpg. Not as good as I'd hoped but that is mainly commuting with a mix of 20/30 speed limits and dual carriageway.

Looks like it's about time to buy an angle grinder or visit dad's shed :)!
