Full body tonneau cover

Does anyone out there know where I can source a full tonneau, the one that clips under the windscreen with a zip down the middle. The original factory part number was DSD 100630, surely there must be a few out there, or a trimmer who can make one, but I have found nothing in three months of internet searching.

Keep watching ebay they crop up from time to time as do the fitting kits

Maybe Don Trimming could make something??

Occasionally come on ebay, but oftentimes not with all the fittings (I guess people forget to remove the fittings when they sell the MG). Prices tend to exceed £200. It took me two years to get mine, outbid a few times so when came up for sale with a buy it now price I took the plunge. Worth it because I like having it fitted. Pictured in "billy no mates" spec'.

I had one of these on my triumph and loved it. Would like to get one for mine too: if anyone gets one made, let me know! :D

For our longer European trips we have removed the Soft Top and fitted a rear rail spacer and one of the first OEM Platinium Silver HardTops . On arrival at our destination the Top comes off and the full Tonneau goes on.
One problem was that the back of the rear section would become detached at speed and flap around. The improvement on the Mk.2 Hood Cover was a tail trapped in the boot lid hinge. I got some material from BAS International and had a local sailmaker add a tail to our tonneau.
BAS would be the people to make a batch of full tonneaus if there was sufficient demand.

There was someone asking darren on mgfntf facebook page earlier this week for a value as they have one for sale so may be worth having a look on there.

Getting the actual tonneau cover made might be easier than getting the fittings made, in particular the fittings that secure through the dashboard air vents. Because they need to have quite a long stem, yet protrude above the dash they are two threaded components (cannot see any other way as windsreen angle interferes in getting them in place). and might be difficult/expensive to replicate. Picture is of the components with the dash air vent fittings on the right.

The front fixings are easily replicated. They comprise of bolts with a higher hexagon ( to the height of the dash ) drilled to take the small caphead bolts, a hole closure washer and a stud. Take a longer bolt, tap a thread in the head and use some washers under he head to raise it to the dash height, washers from the spares box and normal rear studs (available from your dealer ). They are high enough for the single material thickness.
Only remove ONE bolt from each side at a time otherwise the duct will drop.
The difficulty may come with the rear studs. They require to be higher in order to take 2 x material thickness. I do not have access to a lathe since retiring but someone in the group will have.
There was a MGR Kit Number for this kit. Does anybody remember the number.

We come out of the house, get in the car, drop the hood and go.................

A full tonneau would be pointless for us as there will be two of us in the car.

We never drive with the full tonneau on however with no Top, you would not want to return to your car having left in in the blazing sun to find the cockpit covered in bird s**t and the black oxford leather too hot to sit on.

Takes 15 seconds to flip the roof up but each to their own.

Best thing about the full tonneau is that you can drive in cold weather or late on a chilly night, with the roof down, but with a nice warm lower body with the warm air from the heater trapped by the fabric :D

Otherwise, I agree with James - work of a moment to lift and secure the roof when parked :)

I've got a cover, but have been trying for two years to find the fittings and instructions - I can see me making up the parts, but does anyone have a copy of the instructions?

Heated seats, fully working cooling system so the interior heater works and a heated screen so all the heat from the heater can be directed at my feet......

I don't think it did...when I looked it was shown as 'out of stock' which I think means it was sold before time was up.

Don't worry though guys, I have one, with fittings, to put on eBay asap! 8-)...or offers over £200?

(No longer have an F or TF to put it on)
