Post by shedman » Mon Dec 18, 2017 11:20 pm

Hi chaps being new to to owning a mgf is it normal to suffer with so much condensation in the cabin the previous owner must have had the problem seeing I found a moisture trap behind the passenger seat car is not garage over night.

From my very limited experience with the 'F' & 'TF' as well as the excellent advice given in the ultimatemg buyers guide, more than likely if you have got condensation then somewhere or other water is getting in, be it a leak from the roof or from the front scuttle.

Check out all the carpets and if found to be damp or god forbid wet, remove them and dry them out. If they are wet, then it might be worthwhile sitting inside checking all areas whilst someone else slowly and methodically dowses the outside with a hose pipe.

Good luck.

All soft tops are inherently damper inside than tin tops.

Pull the carpets back and check to see if the foam under the carpet is wet, I suspect that is the cause of excessive condensation
