Well I've already committed sacrilege by putting a TT exhaust on it, but man, it sounds glorious! (I have no previous experience with a Rover 'K' but in 55 years of motoring, I have never experienced such a smooth 4 banger and now it sounds like a straight 6). So, I might just push the boat out and fit stick on plates, that is, if I can find someone to make them legally. If I get stopped I can always plead insanity and point to the exhaust system as proof...

Interesting question about black and white number plates and ANPR, there appears to be debate as to whether ANPR ( rather than cameras which take pictures) can read them, does anyone here work for an agency which uses them? My Midget has pressed aluminium plates, and the local sainsburys has ANPR - flashes up a message as you drive in welcoming you and reminding you that you can only park for 2 hours, so i'll take a trip in the Midget and see if it recognises me.

To be honest Calvin, that is a horrific story of how our (mobile) lives have come to be dominated by electronic surveillance and has made me feel rather glum. Hey ho.. :(

However, I am not against it if it assists in fighting crime. It seems the boys in blue made up their minds years ago that crime moves on 4 wheels (or at least used to before the internet) and so we must be traceable. I have nothing to hide from that aspect but I don't like it in my local Waitrose.

ANPR cameras do not read spaces. They just need clear lettering and numbers. :thumbsu:

Never had a problem with my stick on one and have driven past police many times, the backing panel (white with black border) was £1.50 and each letter was 25p, I tried to stick them on as strait as possible. Have reverted back to the normal plate as changing look of car.

I have a quick question on front number plate. Knowing these cars are a bit sensitive on cooling, I was suprised to see the front number plate almost obscuring the lower raditor intake.
Just to say, there’s really no problem with the cooling - the standard radiator is more than sufficient for the cooling needs of the car with the number plate in the standard position - and in fact the standard number plate actually reduces aerodynamic drag from the cooling pack…

I have it on good authority that ANPR doesn't read spaces on registration plates... :P
