What now for MG Live 2020?

Post by c13amb » Tue Mar 24, 2020 4:04 pm

Just heard from Motorsport UK that all permits for any form of motor racing are withdrawn untill June 30th. This obviously covers the weekend of MG Live at Silverstone so without any track action I would of thought it looks highly unlikely that it will go ahead!! Sad but true...it then gets perilously close to MGF 25 too!! :(
My cars..MY04 '54 MGTF135 in Yas Marina Blue!!!

MY13'63 AUDI Q7 S-LINE 3Ltr. In ibis white!!!

I would not be surprised if all car shows for 2020 were cancelled. From experiences in other countries, we are in an exponential infection phase: the lock down reduces the steepness of the graph so as to not completely swamp our national ITU capacity. We're in this for the long haul, and I suspect that mass gatherings will likely be discouraged even if SARS-CoV-2 infection rates are suppressed during this first peak phase.

Luckily, we're a resilient community and we will be able to get out and enjoy our cars later in the year :)
