Petrol Fumes

Hi All.
My MGF TF 135 year 2000 started putting petrol fumes into the interior after driving for a few miles.
I new that it was in need of a full service so put it down to that.
I had a full service done last week & now its even worse.
Has anyone got any ideas please as to what is causing it.
When you lift the boot lid exposing the engine there is NO smell of fumes at all.......its just inside the car!

Check the top of the fuel pump as I have heard of fumes coming from there!

If the service involved changing the fuel filter I would check or have it checked as it could be leaking.

Most probably a vapour leak from the breather pipe between the tank and the filler - this would not get into the engine compartment but would seep into the cabin. You can have a look by removing the engine access panel and check for a leak using your nose. Sometimes it just needs twisting or ty-wrapping to get a better seal. I wonder if it might have been made worse by E10?

Another vote for removing the fuel pump cover and checking the fuel line connectors.

When you check the top of the pump take the plug out and check it's dry - I had a leak and it was a around one of the electrical pins in the pump body which had overheated and was loose and letting fuel out. Solved by removing the pump, inverting it and potting the pis with Araldite.
