Anyone have a picture of the Mk1 MGF B-pillar trim?

Question as per thread title: I removed mine ages ago for the respray, and now I can't remember which hole is used for the tonneau cover popper! D'oh!

Can someone post a picture of theirs? Thanks

If it has the black plastic trim on the inside of the door shut on the B-pillar, it will be similar, albeit without the early press-stud

And do you really use the tonneau in an Mk1 F? I must admit, it is the best cover keeping a careful eye on the hinges and engine cover. Look at a Mk2 or TF and notice the elevation of the lid.

I did have a Mk1 tonneau cover but dumped it after the inner lining foam went all wanky. To be honest it was a right pain to get it properly fastened . A friend gave me a later one (that's trapped under the boot lid) but that went the same way with the foam rotting. I just don't use one now. Just close the hood front rail clamps for safety. The glass screen keeps it weighted down. The wind stop helps too.

My “Tonneau had the same fate. I bought a Full Tonneau attaching to studs replacing the screws for the screen vents. It did not have a tail for the boot so it would come adrift at high speeds so I bought some material and had the tail fitted.

I red the problem here several times with the disintegrating tonneau cover.

The isolating foam is giving up over the years due to heat and mechanical stress from driving wind. Had this problem too and solved it.

A possible solution is to cut the fabric in the back and use a vakuum cleaner and a brush to remove all the dust and remains of the foam.

It is not 100% away from the moment you done it, but every use of the tonneau cover there will be less dust and finally the soft hood will be dust free.

And you gain some weight advantage..

I did what Tom has done but was concerned the hood irons might rub thru the vinyl so got some cheap carpet? used for custom van walls (ebay), I didn't use it on on the boot flap because the thinner the better there. The weird thing is it's a perfect match for the material used in the hood well but is flexible, if anyone needs to repair this area it could be handy.
I haven't got a picture handy and it's precipitating down here but if anyone wants one I can oblige.
