rear trim in boot

Post by itsonlyme54 » Sun Dec 31, 2023 4:12 pm

I have been clearing my store and found two pieces of boot trim, its the carpet? that is against the firewall in the boot, I have had many Fs but have never noticed or seen an F cut out of this material, has anyone else seen this ?

Looks more like the carpet that sits upright behind the seats against the firewall. Could normally be hidden behind the arrest.

it looks exactly like that. Passenger rear bulkhead.

Definitely not the boot as there would not be anything in the boot that would need a cut out for the transmission tunnel.

Yes, in our two Fs, the 'F' cut out is present.

Yes, rear bulkhead carpet behind the rear seats. The "F" cut out is found on all such carpets :)

Another example can be found in part 2 of my Project Shed blog - http://mgf.ultimatemg.com/project_shed/part2.htm - scroll down to the vehicle archaeology section. As mentioned in the text, I have always wondered if they bothered changing the "F" for "TF" for the later cars, but knowing MG Rover, probably not!
