I wasn't sure if there was a wave from other MGF's owners, but will definately look out for some in my area (West Midlands) on my travels.
I'm also a member of the Land Rover Forum (not sure if I'm supposed to admit that) as my previous car was a Land Rover Defender 90 2.5TD. Was sorry to see to see it go. Will miss all those waves now from fellow Landy owners :(

Hopefully waves from the MGF's will keep me happy.

Ah good a proper 4x4!

Unless it has Defender, Discovery or Range in the name it just doesn't cut it offroad (unless its an older series 1 or 2 Land Rover that is!) :thumbsu:

Oh yes, my LR90 (Leonard) and I had some wonderful times green laning. We had so much fun, even when we did get stuck, memories to behold.

But now I can go cruising, can't wait to see what enjoyment this little motor can bring to my life.

Call me sad I know, but kinda do like my cars.

What I would like to see, is a map of the U.K showing where the concentrations of MG roadsters are. I'm use to seeing loads when I am home in East Devon but when I travel the UK they can be very sparse, especially Scotland!
I suppose roadsters gravitate to the mild sea-side do they? They certainly seem to.

I was amused by one post above, remembering which car you are in and then waving as appropriate. Most people on this board must have to do this. We are not letterists so acknowledge any MG including Zs. We used to feel Fs/TFs were a bit insular as they would not recognise the MGB, however mayby they just did not know it was an MG? We were then rather shocked on the way back from the SE centre awards dinner in the TF roof down to be blanked by 2 open MGBs heading the other way for the Arundel Castle run that we had to decline, so letterism is regetably alive and well. Waving from the Fiat would only confuse people

Not many 'F's in France but spotted one this morning - a BRG (ham) F on UK plates (S Reg I think) travelling north on the D904 between Alès and St Ambroix - they were probably baffled as to why this mad frenchman in a 2CV was waving madly at them...

Its hard work remembering who to wave at and which car you are in. If its the Fiat we never wave at MGs, unless it's a local club member who will recognise us/the car (The Marea Weekend has dual ciitizenship after 10 years of lugging the kit around to support MG events banners raffle prizes tent gazebos tables, it all adds up).

Image

If in an MG I try to say hi to all MG owners. I always laugh when MGBs decline to reply when we are in the TF, I mean you are in a 70s Abingdon built car and you wont say hi to one made in the 00s in Longbridge, really sad. We were hailed once in the MGB by a huge Edwardian tourer with a full crew aboard coming the other way in leafy Surrey, nice sunny day and 2 open cars, why not?

Just returned from 2 weeks touring the Picos de Europa mountains and Rioja province of Northern Spain.

Only saw one MGF/TF !!! Last Saturday, 18th June, heading north on the A127, north of Ejea - a matching British Racing Green. Lots of waves as they overtook us.
