Didn't spot one in Chelmsford - in fact after a hellish journey there it took all my
remaining braincells just to locate the Premier Inn.

The journey round the bottom half of the M25 was even worse.
TOLL BRIDGE !?! - IN THAT HEAT !?! - hasn't the damn thing paid for itself yet ?

I'm thinking of complaining to the Health and Safety Executive.

Epsom was lovely, but nary an MG in sight.

I saw 1 MGF on the M3 coming home, and that was it.

Ho hum - in case anyone is wondering why my journeys are so important to me ...........
this time 3 years ago I was laid up in hospital after 2 massive coronaries - my third and fourth - and
having survived them all I made a vow to myself not to waste my time dreaming about
travelling the highways and byways in an open topped car, but to make it happen and enjoy every second.

My road trips are my life's blood, and doing them in an MG is the cherry on top of the icing.

So here's looking forward to MGFifteen.

Ruth, yes it has paid for itself but still they make us queue and still charge, in fact, to deter traffic they have increased the charges recently. There is debate about it locally but it still remains a toll.

I even plan our ferry crossings to avoid going near it, so we often get the 08.00 which allows us to get through it by 06.00, even then we have to queue the last 50 yards.

I know how you feel, although nowhere as serious, I was medically retired from work in 2008 with obstructive sleep apnoea, I was not allowed to drive, when I was passed fit one year later I said the same, I'm going to enjoy myself while I can, you never know when you are not able to.

So, are you coming to Belgium in August then, Dawn, myself and our regular Euro tourers will look after you ?

I've not got a passport, Adrian - I haven't needed one for a very long time !

I suppose I could do something about that, but I suspect it wouldn't be sorted for
a while. I really should, though. It would expand the horizon a bit more........

Petrol or passport ? It's the old 'Daddy or Chips' dilemma.

Ruth you may have seen this guy.

Was driving up Alder Hills in Poole yesterday and exchanged waves with a chap driving a Tahiti Blue (snap, like me!) F, I think it was V-reg.
Also exchanged nods with a guy over near Matchams Lane, at the Blackwater junction off the A338, driving a yellow F?

Do we all just nod and wave with each other then? Lol! I need to learn the MG Etiquette methinks

Nod, wave and smile - otherwise they will think that you think they owe you money !

But only if you are going slow enough to take a hand off the wheel. Health & Safety. :D

There seem to be quite a few unwaving and unsmiling F/TF drivers in this area.
Methinks their song-sheet may be different - Ancient and Modern rather than Songs of Praise.

(You'll only get that if you remember school assemblies in the 50s and 60s.)

White F in Taunton

Post by stux99 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 7:49 pm

Spotted in Taunton today, a beautiful white (trophy?)
Stunning looking car.

White can look so good Stu, but it won't be a Trophy, they only came in Trophy Yellow, Anthracite, Solar Red and Trophy Blue.

White can and does look good on the F and TF (especially the new TF's with the pearlescent paint) but Trophy's only came in Solar Red, Anthracite, Trophy Blue and Trophy Yellow.

Just joined this site..... Just need to check the rules!!!

1. Is it ok to wave at MGB's? (MGF owners near me are un-cooperative on a whole!) :?

2. Is it ok to use a different hand gesture with the back of your hand once they have passed having completely ignored you?

3. Can I plug my thread I've put in the Technical section on here? :P
