Someone's nicked the Shed's wheels!!!

Post by Rob Bell » Sun Apr 25, 2010 2:45 pm

Argh! Thread title says it all really. Went round yesterday, to what is currently a building site (in-laws are having an extension built) to find that all the Shed's wheels have been stolen by the light-fingered ones

I am somewhat disappointed, as you can imagine.

Consequently, I am now on the look out for some replacement 15" - preferably VVC 5 spokes, as cheap as possible (happy with scabby curbed ones, so long as they're still round and not warped)

Sigh. This sort of things really tests one's faith in human nature doesn't it? :(

Got a few sets of 18i rims upstairs in the workshop if you want to come along and pick the best four. Most have legal tyres as well.

Bastards

I know how you feel Rob, scallies will take just about anything they see these days just so they can afford their penny chews with theirs drugs. Have to keep an eye out for any Rovers in the area that will be rolling with MGF wheels on as they will either be on a car or melted down in scrap by now :(

Sorry to hear that, some local scank even nicked a few lengths of timber that were leaning against my front porch after I saved them from going in a skip I had, they had been in the front garden for about 3 weeks prior to the skip arriving.

Guys, thanks. I am kicking myself, as I could very easily have made them more secure by putting them in the back garden, where there is no access. But even then, they weren't on clear display, so someone must have come in for a very good gander, as a pair of them were hiding under the car and not easy to reach. Arrgh. :(

Thanks for the offer Steve. Will perhaps drop you a line in the coming weeks, if that's okay? Ideally I am after the VVC 5-spokers for the hypothetical brake cooling advantage, but any car is faster on wheels than attempting to run on the rim of the brake discs!!!!

Cheers

Damn ....
- there is a set of wheels missing
- you know people are coming in to have a look around and taking what they want

IMHO, the 2nd one is even worse to experience.

You're not wrong Erik! We got burgled recently too, when we had the loft conversion done. Nothing of significant value was taken (although it certainly all adds up when you come to replace it), but it is the sentimental value attached to the worthless that makes it priceless to you. Hey ho.

Hopefully will be able to get some wheels reasonably cheaply, soon! :)
