On the positive side - I can now access the Forum at work - it has slipped under the radar of the management web site filter - so that is real good news :D

On the semi negative side, I know not many threads around yet, but the ones here so far, do seem much harder to read through with all the huge signatures starting to be included. Expect we will get used to it as with any other change, but the threads look a lot more cluttered than before in my opinion (may be prettier to some) and the replies harder to read.

but i hate the avatars on the wrong side and i hate the theme and the way it quotes back to front with the quote under the reply!

give us some themes to choose from and leave this theme as default :)
That depends on where you type your reply :P

There will be new themes, but it was considered a low priority over getting the forum working in the first place.
nice 1 on the themes :) i thought that waould be the answer :D

I think this is a good development, like the look and the access from work!

Well done James.

Must admit, in all the forums I belong to, I've never had the name/avatar on the right. Not a problem, just strange. :)

I found it odd to start with, but after using it during the construction for some time it grows on you as you see the posts first, not the ghumph :)

I think this forum is looking pretty good.

I prefer the avatars in the right hand side. For me it makes reading the threads easier :)

I also like the 'change font size' functionality (underneath the searchbox) - it makes it a lot easier to read, and is quicker than doing it via the menu bar.

Its a bit posh innit! 8-)

I prefer it to the old forum which wouldnt display correctly in firefox, account probs etc,but if I were to be a picky git then Id suggest avatars on the left like all the other forums.

But its definetly a change for the better.Well posh. :)

Well seems OK to me, possibly a bit slower than the other one but I am sure the benefits outweigh that minor inconvienence, and it seems the fun police here at work have not managed to block it.

Oops there's my boss, better make it look like I am doing some work :thumbsu:

James, 10 out of 10 from me. Thank you (from me) for all the time you put into setting this up for the F Register.x

For those who prefer the avatars on the left and a more simple style I have added in the original PHPBB style which you can chose from Forum Preferences in your User Control Panel.

I like it, well done James :)

It has a lot of the features I like, especially the 'View first unread post'. Took me a while to find it, but it's there.

I like this version of PHP BB, but don't like the theme and style : The avatars on the right side (not a standard size), the pictures some users uses as signature etc.. This makes the new forum not read very easy if you understand what I' meaning. Also there is no spell checker anymore on this forum, so for us people who don't speak English , isn't that a good thing.
Anyway, I'm sure this is just some fine tuning, so in future, this will be a good looking forum I think. Nice work !

Edit :

Sorry, missed that message,

Aha, very well done !

Can you also put the mgf-register head in that style, instead of the PHPBB logo ? :P

Well if you are asking, for my money it is now like a poor copy of dot org with the same small pictures and personal publicity commentaries, large empty spaces (which take forever to load) and just a few people with anything to say about Fs rather than themselves.
Everybody seems to have gone to MGR dot org, except that dot org has lots of people already posting - so you will (eventually) find something of interest - unlike the new F register.
Just my opinion and I deliberately did not vote on the move, fearing the worst, so I do not complain - much. But I do care about the diminishing F interest which is glaring - same as BBS, which has recenty and in my opinion foolishly, introduced pictures. The mouth breathers congregate.
