Brand New MGF Bodyshell on eBay
Hi folks,
whilst digging around on eBay, I just came across an interesting offer from B&G. They have an original, brand new MGF (not TF) bodyshell going for 599 quid: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/230503872842.
Cheers

Makes this one expensive, they have been advertising it for at least four years.

Gosh, Andrew,
"expensive" might even be a bit weak an expression ... for that price there's a 2005 (!) reg MGF for sale in the UK ...
Happy Easter,

Re: Brand New MGF Bodyshell on eBay
Its nice and clean... which is about the only thing its got going for it.
You would have to be a loon and a full on fanatical freak to pay that much for some that is included with every working MGF you buy....
if you want one, buy a working one, strip it down and off set/load the cost by selling the parts lol
They must realise nobody will buy at that price... I mean maybe somebody who want it to conver for a race car maybe.... but then again why would they buy when theres others lol

Re: Brand New MGF Bodyshell on eBay
You're right, ElectroSoldier,
simply building a new standard MGF with used parts around this shell should get you sent to the funny farm in an instant. Yet I had another idea in mind:
- take this bodyshell and put it on a TF's subframes and adjustable coil suspension
- use a new N-series engine or even better powertrain
- get all the useful mods done in the first place, from braides brake hose to glass rear window, upgraded clutch lever, slick shift kit ...
This will cost a fortune and need months of work, I see the point. Yet then you get a brand new MGF with up-to-date specs that still keeps the original look, and is free from the dreaded issues as HGF and leaking hydragas spheres.
Okay, why not get a new TF then, you might ask. Well, it's a matter of taste and therefore cannot be discussed, but to me the F is simply much more beautiful. Just imagine an upgraded MGF in Volcano Orange running on an 11 registration ... or rather 61, given the work to be done
I wish I had the time and fundings ...
Just dreaming,
Mykel
