The 100K Club
I thought it was about time we relaunched this 'exclusive' section on the new forum as I had forgotten to bring it over from the old one previously and it goes a long way to actively promote the reliability of the cars and the commitment of the owners to stick by them.
The rules are simple... Send in a pic to prove your car has hit or gone past 100,000 miles (or 160,000 Kilometres) and you've qualified as an official 100k member! As an example, here's mine from last year...
... and it's now over 101,500 miles, and still running beautifully! Have I really only done 1500 miles since last July. Oh the joys of having a company vehicle...
Could those who posted on the old forum post here again, just so we can keep it all together? You don't have to use the same photo. Send a pic of what your mileage is now...
Rich.
PS... You can view the old thread here.

I'm still not on 100K miles but on about to hit the 140k km mark .... what a baby
Latest pic I could find was taken 2 months back after I fitted the dial rings.
Ohh and it seems to me that the petrol gauge is always in the "empty" mood

Re: The 100K Club
Just looked at my last posting for the 100K club and with my normal motoring would have exceed the required distance within 3 months BUT am still some 4500km away only travelled in 6 months some 3800km. Ive been resting the old girl to much, the main reason is that I can't be botherd to swap my track wheels for road ones every few weeks.

Re: The 100K Club
I was thinking about a sticker (one for the Miles and one for the Kilometres) or at least a small logo we could add to our signatures on here. I'm working on it!jlee wrote:Picture will follow when i find it!!! I think Joyce has it on her camera!!! 100k miles way before xmas last year and now on about 103k how about a special sticker....???? oT: I got my dash rings directly from here: http://s94153531.einsundeinsshop.de/ses ... R0305%3D29
I can offer translation assistance if needed, not able to pre-order them for myself due to my financial chaos atmo
IIRC payment via international bank transfer only. They might pop-up on eBay UK from time to time (Tachoringe, Armaturenringe).

Took a pic of my mileometer around Autumn time last year reading 123456.7 and sent it off to FasTForward - not been published yet, if it doesn't appear in the next issue, i'll put it on here.

Re: The 100K Club
That equates to 197530.72 km's. Therefore Andy could start the 200000km's club by nowScarlet Fever wrote:Took a pic of my mileometer around Autumn time last year reading 123456.7 and sent it off to FasTForward - not been published yet, if it doesn't appear in the next issue, i'll put it on here.

Re: The 100K Club
Probably Ralph's. He cleared the 150,000 miles mark some years ago, if the car's still going it must have amongst the highest mileages (at a guess).
Maybe Ralph knows the current owner ?

Re: The 100K Club
I don't know who owns my car now. Last time I checked the car on the DVLA site the car was still registered, so its out there somewhere. If I still owned it, it would be on around 300,000 by now!
BTW when I sold the car it still had the original engine and clutch in it. The cam belt tensioner on the engine had failed, causing the cam belt to slip around a couple of teeth, so the engine either needed rebuilding or replacing.

Re: The 100K Club
OK err, if I count the 30000 odd miles out to NZ and back I am comfortably 'in the club'; otherwise God willing, about 5 months to wait, still mostly with original bits barring a few ball joints, wheel bearings, (cough)HG, front discs, underfloor pipes, headlights, cat, front bumper. Current battery has done >70k, plugs and leads >50k. New gaz shocks fitting this week. Constant fun.

Re: The 100K Club
VW Passat company car clocked up 100K the other week too, this means that of the three cars i drive, the V8, with 88,000 miles on it is officially the lowest mileage car!

Re: The 100K Club
I was just thinking about the cars that I have taken around the clock so to speak. 5 of my last 6 cars have gone around the clock. The closest I got to doing 100K myself is with the Rover 414SLi - did about 90K in 3 years of ownership. Good car that Rover - only broke down the once - and that was a HGF caused by the water pump falling apart.
