How many 1.6i were made
Does anyone know how many MGF 1.6i were made. I have one which I'm doing up at the moment, should be quite quick and look nice when its finished. I was wondering what the competion might be.

Re: How many 1.6i were made
They are split out for the TF, gives you an idea. MGR would have built in the ratio they expected to sell them.
Re: How many 1.6i were made
Quite correct, the 1.6l is not listed as they are according to Model Name, not Engine Size so look for TF115.
No MGfs were built with the small engine.

Objection, Geoff, Your Honour!
Fom MY 2000 some Fs were also built as lower spec 1.6 models, with Mk2 exterior (window frame, indicators ...) but Mk1 interior (no rear speakers, old style door pods and 9-to-3 steering wheel.
I'm not sure about how many entry level MGFs there were in total, but I have a strong feeling that Dieter will come across this thread shortly and look it up in his database

Re: How many 1.6i were made
And the website mentioned earlier only tells the number of cars left (or registered) in the UK. We did also have some 1.6 MGF's and TF's.
My source tells me:
1,396 MGF 1.6i
7,024 MG TF115

Re: How many 1.6i were made
I was interested in this as I also have a 2001 1.6 MGF. Could be quite rare in years to come.
Have a few extras, factory fitted I believe, leather seats, rear speakers, painted door locks and mirrors.

Re: How many 1.6i were made
@Henry: I have my doubts about the 'of the factory' options you listed. Officially the items you listed were not an option you could check on the orderform. However, in case of the TF115, some left te factory with options that weren't officially available on the TF115. The fully spec'd TF115 is also known as 'The Italian Job'. It could be that something similar does exist for the MGF 1.6
Re: How many 1.6i were made
Hi Erik,
I bow to your superior knowledge. I dont know what was available as an 'option' or an 'extra', either fitted by the factory or the dealer. Just passing on a brief comment made by a ex MG Service Manager.
It would be interesting to see
1) Copy of my cars' original build sheet - are these available?
2) Copy of order form listing options and extras - are these available?
Regards
Henry

No need to bow, we are all equal and a bit mad about MG's.
Regarding the options from the factory for your car, have a word with http://www.mgrccservices.com
They are an official instance with access to the MG Rover build archive.
