When we purchased our 2009 MG TF 135 we were supplied with two keys and both sets worked. Recently one of the remote fobs has stopped working - it just doesn't appear to communicate with the car at all. I have changed the battery but it made no difference.
We are continuing with the one remaining fob but that also appears to be on the way out because sometimes strange things happen - such as the hazard warning lights might start flashing when we open the boot and occasionally the car just fails to lock.
The obvious solution is to get new or refurbished fobs programmed to the car and we may need to have the ECU/BCU checked over and repaired.
Where is the obvious 'go-to' place for this sort of work please? Preferable somewhere not too far from our home near Banbury.

I'm sure you will have done, but have you resynced the fob to the car after replacing the battery?
Techdozen is the expert in replacing failing / faulty relays in the ECU/BCU.

Pektron fobs does not need to be resynced after battery change. Only Lucas fobs need to be resynced.

Paul (Technozen - you can find him on eBay, and probably other places too) is the man to talk to.
The Pektron unit is a bit of a minefield for a variety of reasons. The older Lucas system is way more robust and simpler - but that is not much help to you.
Hopefully Paul can help sort this, but otherwise, the keyfob, without the original 12-digit code, is basically scrap, because it cannot be re-coded without it sadly. Fingers crossed the problem is something super simple, like a dry solder joint (I've seen this on the battery retainer on the Lucas key fobs before).
