Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Catastrophe

Post by Andy the tyre man » Sun Aug 05, 2012 5:44 pm

It looked so nice this morning we decided to go see the mother in law in the mgf.. :D

Roof down, shades on, tunes up!! 8-)

We were cracking along the flint coast road when a few spots of rain appeared so we decided to pull overand pull the roof up.

All was well untill I put the wipers on!!

The passenger side wiper arm decided to take on a DTM stylee!! :o

We returned home and went out in our "normal car"

I've just had a look at it now and the short bar from the motor to the arm has snapped in two!?!?

Has anyone got one in their spares collection???

It's the short piece that connects the n/s wiper arm to the motor.

The one with a kink in it.

Can't post a pic as I'm on here with an iPhone and iPad and don't know how to use them!!

I have a complete wiper linkage in my shed and having parted company with the FImage a couple of weeks ago, it's no use to me.

It's a long way to N.Wales from Oxford and I can't guarantee that all the joints are still kosher, but the bit is yours if you can work out an economical way of getting it !

You have to take it all apart to fit a 2nd hand plastic joint part that may last until tomorrow. You may look at the steel joint assembly available from http:// www.rimmerbros.co.uk which will last forever.
