Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Hoops & glass screens

Post by BooBoo » Fri Apr 25, 2014 8:01 pm

I'm looking at buying some roll-over hoops for my TF and one of the Ebay ad's says not suitable for cars with the glass rear screen.

Does this apply to all available hoops , or just certain makes ?

The original XPower hoops are not suitable for the glass rear window, the mk2 XPower hoops are

I cannot comment about any other make of hoops

Hi Boo Boo - Carolyn's F has Mike Satur Mk 2 roll hoops and a one piece glass rear window hood and it works a treat - the only thing to note is you need to fold down the glass wind deflector that is inbetween the hoops prior to opening the roof to avoid contact with the HRW :-)

Some hoops mount behind the T-bar and these don't work with glass screens,
others fit on top of the t-bar and they do work with glass screens.
