I am thinking of replacing the shock absorbers on my MGF, which are still the original ones and after about 70k miles and 20 years of use, they looks a bit tired (front ones are very rusty and scabby).
Looking at the stuff available, I would like to know what would be the best, the oil filled Monroe, or the gas filled KYB?
I just want them to offer a nice ride for normal driving (with the occasional fun on the country lanes where I live) and don't want any sports stuff like Spax or GAz.

I've recently fitted KYB all round but the car is still off the road while I finish off other jobs, so can't really comment on the drive with them on yet. But the way I see it they've got to better than the 90K miles originals that were on the car. KYB seem to have received some pretty good reviews as well.
