TF sub frame drop

Hi all
I've had a fairly constructive day working on the TF (2003, 135).
I changed the front sub frame mounts without any dramas.
I hoped to also swap out the drivers side wishbone which has a hole in it. The passenger side looks fairly recent. I managed to remove the bolts in the front rear mount (without snapping) I also loosened the 2 wishbone bolts, the drop link bolt and the pinch bolt.
I undid the bolt on the steering column inside the car and the cross frame bolt. The front mount is already loose.
However, I cannot get the sub frame to drop more than an inch which in not enough to access the rear bolt.
It is beginning to dawn on me that I need to remove both rear mounts in order to drop the frame or enough.
Is this right or have I missed something blatantly obvious?
Thanks.
