Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Speakers

Post by hammond » Thu Apr 27, 2017 5:34 pm

I've lost my speakers behind my seat in the F as I've fitted roll hoops. I know you can get an adapted bracket to make them fit but I was after fitting bigger ones.
What is behind the panel that is directly behind the seats? Is it possible to cut a hole in it and fit some speakers? If so has anyone ever tried this?

Sorry if it's a dumb question

The panel covers the fuel tank, so making holes in it is not a good idea :o

:-o
I never really thought about where the tank was and all along I'm sitting right in front of it!!

Lucky I didn't attack it with a jigsaw

Thanks for clearing it up. Back to the drawing board to incorporate some nice speakers

Depends on the hoops, some fit without effecting the T-bar speakers.

Mine ones have definitely stopped me from refitting the speakers. I wanted bigger speakers anyway. Maybe on the floor behind the seats now.

I have a Kenwood active 8" under seat sub behind the passenger seat.

I think if I was you I'd probably go for an under seat sub, and a decent set of door speakers and tweeters which should go some way to compensating for the loss of t-bar speakers.
