Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.

Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.

Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway! :)

Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Suplex

Post by paulc » Sat Apr 29, 2017 12:23 pm

I am currently installing Suplex suspension units. The Installation manual states 'Once fitted in place. using a felt tip pen mark the front flat of the hexagon, using a 21mm spanner unwind the hexagon adjuster from the Suplex suspension unit by 18 turns'. The actual unit will not unwind more than 13 turns, so do they actually means 'flats' i.e. 3 full turns. The manual is Version 6 March 2013 so may have been updated. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Yet another helpful post from Helsbyman.

I have no personal experience of the Suplex system but if I were you I'd ring suplex and ask them.

Well T/C the system does not work and phoning them up will get him no where as I know of a person who bought one of these systems some were around 2007 and he is an engineer and he spent 3 yrs talking to them and put forward ideas on how to make it work and he got no where
There is also a more recent post from some one else who found it didn't work and he sent it back and got a refund

A lot of people have had issues but I understand they have done work to improve them so quoting someone who had problems 10 years ago doesn't really make the mark.

But like I said, I'd ring them and ask their advice.
