Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.
Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.
Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway!
Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Esso EZL 799 CVT fluid
I need some fluid for a new Steptronic gearbox. Can anyone help with suppliers please or is there a recommended equivalent

It's available from the usual MG specialists such as Rimmer Bros but is expensive. It can also be bought from BMW MINI dealers but at elevated BMW gold plated prices! (The early BMW MINI autos used the same CVT gearbox as MGRover.)
I have some left over from a 20 litre drum I bought from BMW when I had my TF and it's the genuine stuff. I no longer have my TF so it's available for collection for a nominal fee, £5/litre (= about half price), which I will donate to charity.
I have about 11 litres decanted into bottles. 1 x 4 litre, 1 x 5 litre and 1 x 2.5 litre. If anyone wants it please PM me.
Collection only from Exeter, Devon, a few minutes from M5 Junction 29.
