Forum rules
Not many rules really, this board being aimed at technical issues, it shouldn't fall foul (hopefully) of some of the more personal issues that can affect forums.
Rule 1 - Is that you need to think very carefully before posting anything technical or asking anything technical relating to the security system of the car - See 'Security Issues' sticky for more info.
Rule 2 - We (MGF Register) do not support copyright infringement and therefore references to CD ROM, PDF versions or paper copies of the workshop manual (for instance) should not be posted on the forum. We don't want to get into trouble and we'd rather sell you a genuine hard copy through our Regalia shop anyway!
Because advice is honestly and freely given in this technical section, much of it will be amateur experienced based, so any information is given in good faith and is not guaranteed as correct.

Really good effort! Looks very good, and the completed job is surely better than some "professionals'" efforts

Ha! I also have a ZTT! Great combo IMO I really like the R75. If the company had kept going, I'd have got another without doubt. But instead have kept this one An '03 CDTi - just got a fresh ticket for it today
I have a few welding projects in mind - and tempted to buy an old Land Rover just to learn how to weld on!

Re: new repair panels - MGF
The hardest thing is getting the crankshaft nut off. Easy if you have a windy gun. Youll need a cam locking tool and an allen key to loosen the tensioner bolt. Apart from that its fairly straightforward. Far easier than doing the belt on my Citroen C15 van! The belts and tensioners are different so make sure you get the right ones. Change the water pump and the alternator belt at the same time.

I agree - pretty straightforward - and a windy gun is definitely the way forwards to make light work of the job
